Sony Ericsson MS-410 Portable Speakers (discontinued by manufacturer)

Arrived quickly and very pleased with these speakers - small, well made item that goes very well with my W995.Main thing I like is that I can now use as a radio without the use of headphones, and the sound quality is very clear. Just remember that the volume is controlled by the phone, not the speakers, so if it's low and you can't hear it, TURN YOUR PHONE UP !A note re the clip protector on top - this also acts as a 'stand' that clips onto the back of the unit to stop said phone falling over - very neat !All in all great product that I can highly recommend - nice one SE !

This is a great little gadget by sony. Its ideal for when your on holiday, in the caravan, or hotel room. You can take it anywhere its easy to use and powered by the phone, so you dont need extra batteries to cary around with you. Its got quite good quality sound although its not extra loud. The volume is controlled by the phone. It comes with a cap to protect the plug-in part, which just clips to the device when not in use. Altogether its a nice handy device.

full sound that comes from these mini speakers and delight the ear, I can say I was so impressed and I decide to order one more just because people complain about clips - I will pay atention to that but anyway plastic is good quality sound is defined(I can not ask for more from such a small device!) build quality seems to be excelent and the price too. I use them with C501.

These are great little speakers and I would have like to have given the 5 stars, but there are however a couple of little design faults that mean the product has a finite lifetime.For the price, I paid [...], the sound quality is excellent and I use them all over the house and in the summer time in the garden. Matched to my W995 which has an 8GB memory and excellent battery resilience, you can literally enjoy 6 or 7 hours of music at enough of a volume to enjoy with a few friends and a beer.Obviously, because of their size if you push them too hard they will distort, but this is never really a problem.There are two design issues that do snag though. The speakers come with a plastic hardened shroud that protects the pins in the connection port. Take this off and it fits onto the rear of the Unit to allow it to stand up when the phone is connected. Without it the unit CANNOT stand up when the phone is connected. So why didn't they attach it somehow, or even make it a different shape so it can stand under its own design?Which brings me to the only other problem. Because Sony Ericsson, rather childishly in my opinion, insist on having the style of connection port they have, constant connect/disconnect means they get damaged over time, and this is particularly true of these speakers. The last set survived 9 months, the set before that a year, but the fact I keep buying them should tell you a great deal.For the money they are excellent. With a tweak they could be even better, but perhaps it's time SE starting allowing people a 3.5mm jack instead.

I was sceptical about these but thought for less than £4 it was worth a go. I was pleasantly surprised with the result. My phone is (probably not the best) "Walkman" product that Sony have ever produced but a music influenced product all the same, and therefore better built in speakers than some phones but these are actually miles better than the built in speakers.Other good points are :1. They don't actually drain the phones battery a great deal - several hours listening from a fully charged phone.2. They automatically act as the antenna for radio listening3. I've finally found something good to say about the stupid socket that is common to a range of Sony Ericsson phones. They attach to the phone without the need for any wires.The downside of point 3 though is that you cannot charge the phone when using the speakers.

Used this item for 2 years with my SE W995 and i LOVE them !! They were used lots and was worried the connections would wear out over time but careful use allowed me to use them ALOT for the 2 years i had the phone and they still work perfectly now i've just got my phone upgrade

RUBBISH, don't buy - only works with the very old style phones.........advert should have pointed this out....a con!

Was great whilst it worked but failed after only 3 or 4 weeks of infrequent use in that the slightest movement of the phone would stop audio output from speaker but isn't problem with phone as earphones plugged into same socket work fine. Also, ever since I started using this speaker my phone has developed a problem in that when I plug in charger to same socket it disconnects itself again straight away & takes 20 attempts to get it to stay connected & keep charging. Coincidental maybe but never had a problem in the 2+ years I've had the phone until used this speaker.In hindsight, wish I'd have forked out the extra for MBS-100 bluetooth speaker.
