Unshakable Hope: Building Our Lives on the Promises of God Hardcover – August 7, 2018

I read this book when I was struggling with a trial and my faith in God's promises were dwindling. This book helped me faith grow three times bigger.

As with all other Max Lucado books I've read, this one is equally comforting and inspirational with numerous reminders of God's promises.

Sometimes life just overwhelms me. I need the truth of God’s Word to permeate my heart. Max Lucado writes in a way that points me to truth and encourages me to pursue it!

As a person walking a cancer journey, Pastor Lucado's expounding on scriptures of hope have offered great comfort. I highly recommend this book to anyone regardless of what is happening in your life right now.

This book of Max Lucado lacked some of what I expect from his writings. It did not engage me and lacked his usual humor.

I took a little pause from my current TBR, a pause from my 2021 reading challenge, and a pause from the world to sneak in this book about hope and I'm so glad I did! To date, I haven't read a single Max Lucado book I haven't liked. He is so gentle and encouraging in his delivery and there is something inspiring and comforting about that.As a Christian in a season of grief, I have been clinging even tighter to the promise of a Savior. I am not ashamed to admit I need Jesus because, listen, I love Jesus but I'm a mess. I can be hot tempered, sharp tongued, and just... a hot mess. But thanks be to God all of that is washed by the blood and I am enough just as I am. No need for perfection because I'll always fall short.I don't know about you but my soul is WEARY. And I needed some hope. So I hit pause on all other voices and let God speak. And Max Lucado did a great job reminding us how to hold on to hope, where our hope comes from, and that we cannot let go of hope. I almost cried happy tears!I feel calmer and more peaceful already and I highly recommend this one. To everyone. Because everyone needs hope.

Lucado sure did his research in this book. Not only that, but, it has his usual easy to read writing style. I always look forward to the next Lucado book, and this is no different. I am looking forward to the next one. Lucado encapsulates each chapter in promises, God's promises to us that give us hope. He ends by suggesting that we come up with our own list of promises, which is a very good suggestion.One place I differ from Lucado is in his chapter entitled "This Temporary Tomb," which is about eternity. He describes how we will be perfected. He says we will have "a mind with no wandering thoughts." I believe it is good to have a mind with wandering thoughts. If I didn't have wandering thoughts, I wouldn't be able to write fiction, in fact I probably wouldn't be able to write non-fiction, either, as I write when the ideas come to me, so I must write as I go, taking notes. I am surprised Lucado wrote that part. Perhaps he doesn't have the same writing process I do. Anyhow, as usual, Lucado has written a better book this time than the last one, and the last one was good, too, which is why I always look forward to the next book by him.

I had this author recommended to me by a friend. This is a very approachable book, that is well worth a read. I could not fault it in any way.I have since bought two other books by this aurthor, and I’m looking forward to reading them.

I read this in a day. It explains the promises God made and the hope we need. Truly unconditional love.

There are not too many books that focus on Hope - Many on love and faith. This is another great book by Max.
