We have had this water filter for 10 years, works great and we change the filter about every 6 months. Easy to do.

So Far....So Good.
I have had three different whole house water filter systems. Two were the "spin on from the bottom" type and the third looked like a water softener. That third one was an expensive mistake for more reasons than one. In the end, all it did was insert a chemical imbalance into the house water and cause more problems than it solved. No, they would not allow me to return it. The other two were a major PIA when it came time to spin off the bowl and replace the filter cartridge. Despite the fact that I applied plumbers silicone grease on both the O ring and the threads of the bowl, without fail I had to put an extender bar on the supplied tool and pull hard to get the bowl to break loose. No, I did not over tighten the bowl in the first place. The second one blew the O ring and leaked. Yes, it was installed AFTER the house pressure regulator set to to 60#s. It happened when we were home and I caught it within 5 minutes. Lucky me,huh?I installed this EcoPure about a month ago and so far, so good. Why did I buy it? The cartridge replacement design was like nothing else on the market. In fact, the entire design was unique and simple. I had no problem installing it and it has demonstrated that it really is working. The ice cubes have turned more clear than ever before. The water tastes better. There are only two of us in the house so the cartridge should last at least the six months as advertised. The local big box store sells the cartridges or I can buy them here. If I were asked whether or not you should buy one I would say yes. I will never buy the "spin on bowl" type again. No news is good news. If something goes bad with this unit I will return here and let you know. But....so far, so good.

Good way to keep your whole house water safe
This product is pretty good as far as I am concern. It is east to install the filter and I truly believe it keeps the water safe to drink in the city.Thank you and may God bless you.

$$$ but the best and easiest to change
this is a cartridge - one must install in-line the filter containertakes about a minute to change and don't have to turn off waterreally easy to change this cartridge!!!might get a few drips so a small towel is all that is needed other than asmall bit of elbow grease!I live outside city - well water and silt fills the cartridge in about 2 - 3 monthsbetter than having the silt get into water softener and heater and house pipingUPDATE! - reading other posts about "exploding" cartridge - methinks proper procedure for filter change not being followed. Change takes less than a minute when done per instructions and the housing for the filter is removed THEN OPENED and there is no water pressure possible as the filter is removed from the water system and both in and out water paths of the filter are open. Filter is a fairly close fit in the filter cartridge container - can't see the filter "exploding" - I puncture the filter cartridge to drain water before putting in trash.Got tired of $$ for cartridges as my deep well pumps up quite a bit of red clay silt - and deep well water pressure about 50 PSI - not so good especially on 2nd floor of house - soAdded a booster pump, one-way valve, pressure relief tank as per booster pump installation instruction and decided since I was having so much fun playing plumber under the house - decided to add another filter before the Glacier Bay filter - a GE branded one that uses $10 or less filters - but is mess to change. I bought a small plastic "mixing box" from Lowes - found in the area where redi-mix concrete is - sort of like a huge drip pan. GE filter contains, my guess, a bit over a gallon of water that has to be dumped to change the cartridge. The GE is also a 5 micron filter so I'm thinking the $35 ECOPURE filters will last longer. Have had booster pump and filters in use for just over a month so a bit soon to determine how long the ECOPURE will last. But - water is clear - and with water softener - all is ok (lots of dissolved iron in well water here)Note: the ECOPURE and the GE filters are PARTICULATE filters - not "dissolved minerals" filters. That is what the water softener is for! Also - refrigerator and under kitchen sink filters for drinking water that do have charcoal as part of the filter medium.picture of both filters with the ECOPURE cut open - about 2-3 months use before 2nd (larger) filter added - one month use - hoping the larger one helps the $$$ ECOPURE last longer!

They work great!
They work great and last long. My only gripe is one was missing an o-ring.

Amazing Water Filter!
We have a well with very rusty hard water. This, filter is phenomenal for the price. I had trouble finding the replacement cartridges, and am so happy to have found it here on Amazon. In the winter, we went through more more than normal amount of cartridges but we had to leave our water running in each sink and the tub so not to freeze. I have a double wide with no basement. Without that happening it has lasted much longer. The water is so nice and clear with this filter and has saved me thousands by not getting a commercial system.*Update 2/5/19I'm still using these filters and am so impressed with them I wanted to share pictures of a new filter along with an old used one. Even needing replaced you can see the clean side is still very clean. The dirty side is so rusty. I definitely recommend this item, it works in the Home Depot Glacier Bay water filter system, that I attached a stock photo of that as well. Home Depot has stopped selling the replacement cartridges for it, these are compatible.

This filter works too well.
The quality of the water that this filter produces is wonderful. In my HOA we have our own wells that the HOA manage and the pipe infrastructure is starting to fail so there is a lot of sediment in our water. Since this filter, filters down to 5 micron I only get about 1 month of use out of the filter before the water pressure is too low to use. I am looking into adding a sediment pre-filter ahead of this that is reusable to hopefully get rid of the larger particles so they don't clog this filter as quickly.

Well constructed.
I installed the filter quickly and easily. Solid construction of product. (American made) Unit does not provide an option for bypass which means if the filter plugs up you loose all pressure to your house until you replace the filter. Although the filter is advertised to last up to 6 months, mine only lasted for a month and a half before I lost pressure on my shower. Guessing I will spend $600.00 plus a year for filter replacement. Too expensive for me.
