Merrell Men's Speed Strike 2 Mid Waterproof

I ordered these Merrell Men's Speed Strike 2 Mid Waterproof Shoes for my husband for Christmas. He had been wearing an old pair of work boots for hiking for the last three years and needed something new. The Merrell brand has worked well for me for hiking, so he was happy to try this men's version of my boots. The boots are comfortable and very sturdy, a well-made shoe! They are listed as waterproof, but he hasn't actually tested that out yet. His feet don't feel sweaty, though, so the boots breathe very well. The traction is great and makes such a difference compared to his old boots. We hike the North Georgia mountains, so we need something that keeps us steady. The sizing was perfect, no pinching, tightness, or any discomfort whatsoever. There's just the right amount of room in the toe box. The shoes give great support all over, but in the arch area too. They were a bit stiff at the start, but as with any shoe or boot, they have loosened up a bit over time. We are happy with the olive green color, and the boots themselves are attractive-looking. Very glad to have continued our tradition with Merrell hiking boots.

There are a few areas where spending a little extra is almost always worth it, and shoes is definitely one of them. I got a pair of cheaper high top hiking boots first and my feet were killing me after wearing them for several hours and being on my feet. After getting over the regret of buying the cheap ones first, I got these and the difference is night and day. They’re so much more comfortable and I can be on my feet all day in these and forget I’m wearing them. They’re well made, as you’d expect from Merrell, waterproof to just above the ankle, fit perfectly, and I think they look great. Worth every penny. Would 100% buy them again.

Only had them a week but they are very light, very warm and very comfortable. I am a Superintendent of a 402 unit, 22 building property. The boots are very comfortable to walk the property all day long. I've had numerous knee injuries and these boots are definitely more gentle on my knees than anything else I've worn. Keeps my feet dry walking through wet grass or in the rain. Haven't tried them in snow yet but hopefully the preform just as well. I ordered a half of a size up and they fit perfectly. UPDATE: we had 6 inches of snow 2 days ago. Boots keep my feet very warm and very dry. AWESOME BOOT!!!

Fit great, not as much arch support as I was expecting, but very comfortable for all day wear.

Brought these to Switzerland last year and was really impressed with the comfort and support these offer. Can wear these all day hiking and my feet don't hurt. Also they're light weight. Not drastically but lighter than most brands.

Super comfortable and super light. No need to get accustomed to these shoes as they're confortable right out of the box. Fit and size is as expected. Sole adherence is very good, ankle protection is very solid as well.

Mailman Letter Carrier here! This shoe is very comfortable with good support. Insoles not necessary. I walk around 10-15 miles daily. This shoe had held up quite well. My only issue is that is isn't waterproof. With heavy morning dew I would have damp socks. If it was raining they got soaked! These shoes lasted around 6 months before the tread was almost gone. I recently bought the same shoes just with leather uppers and this seems to have solved the water issues. I am a BIG fan of Merrell's.

Love them! Bought for a trip to Ireland and I hope they perform just as well as they feel. I’m a US11 with a narrow foot and they feel like broken in boots the second you put them on. Very impressed! Also, gotta love the old school look. Arch support seems ok but, you might want to add an arch support i sole if that’s something you really need. Overall, extremely happy.
