What I most like, and what sets it apart from similar magnifiers is that the large size makes it easy and clearly to look at my stamp collections without having to hunch over them. This makes things much more relaxing.The led lights make the viewing area nice and clear and bright.Unlike my other magnifiers the image around the edges is not distorted because of the particular material they use for this magnifier. It comes with protection over both sides of the lens which has to be first removed.The 4x and 10x smaller lens are both magnifications most useful for stamps too. Initially I felt that there could have been more light beneath these lens on the viewing area but quickly discovered that by angling the magnifier slightly that more light was allowed in.(And anyway if I need to look at smaller areas for longer then I have smaller Led magnifiers for such.)I was tempted to only give 4 stars for this but for such an excellent magnifier for this price it is a real bonus to have these 2 extra very useful magnifications there if needed.Some magnifying glasses have extra lens in magnifications far too high unless you want to look at printing dots or such.A very pleased customer who will probably buy another one for my Wife’s mother who is awaiting a cataract operation and really struggling at present.

The item being sold here is actually very well made and designed to be ergonomically comfortable in the hand (and being left-handed I often find such hand-held items uncomfortable). I'm getting on in age now, well past fifty, and my eyes are not what they used to be so in attempting to pursue my love of old books and comic books, it is necessary to have a decent magnifying glass that I can comfortably hold and use to see what is actually conveyed in dialogue and description.This product does that magnificently! I was so impressed in fact by how they looked in the images on the page that I placed an order for three of them and was not disappointed when they arrived. Putting the batteries in could have been simpler if there was a - + guide but I eventually worked it out, one battery (supplied with the glass) goes in the bottom and two other batteries are layed on top. To orientate them correctly, put the flat end of the batteries against the spring in the compartment and will ensure the correct polarity.The lense area is large and features a small dimple magnifyer within it, the glass is indeed glass and does not turn the image upside down. The frame contained three bright LED emitters that produce a strong light and can be flicked on and off with a simple push-button. They even provided a soft cleaning cloth! What more could you ask for? GET ONE TODAY -- NO, get three today as you never know when you might need a spare or two!NOTE that I've purchased magnifying glasses made of actual glass with a plastic frame for years and often these items have come from China ... and sadly this has been reflected in how they are manufactured and their lack of quality with those items falling apart within a year. Don't fall for the ''false economy'' of a cheaper alternative, go with quality - go for a H&S Magnifying Glass!

This magnifying glass arrives with both sides of the lens covered in a transparent protective film – remember to peel if off before use!The 14cm diameter lens seems huge; it’s crystal clear, lightweight, and the handle is generously sized, nicely-shaped, and easy to hold.The large lens would be useful when scanning a newspaper, pc/laptop screen, or a whole page in a book. There is remarkably little distortion with either the large (2x) or smaller (4x) lens.As you might expect, the 4x and 10x mini-lenses have very small fields of view. If you’re holding a book at arm’s length, the large 2x lens can cover an area approx. 20cm wide. The smaller 4x lens covers an area about 2cm wide. The 10x can’t read much more than a couple of letters at a time, and the image is quite distorted, so it’s of limited practical use.There are three tiny LED lights set into the handle at the base of the large 2x lens, and one more tiny LED light under the 10x lens; the lights require three AAA batteries, but the magnifying glass works fine without them. The battery compartment in the handle has a cover that is easy to slide off with your thumb - no need for a jeweller’s screwdriver.My only niggle with this item is that, as with so many magnifying glasses made in China, the claimed 2x, 4x and 10x magnification refers to area, not length. The actual magnification of the three lenses are not 2x 4x and 10x but closer to 1.4x, 2x and 3x. If you’re looking for a ‘proper’ magnifying glass, eg for stamps, banknotes etc, this is probably not for you – but, for the price, this is a good value low-power reading glass.

This was purchased for my 87-year-old father he has macular degeneration and even with glasses finds it hard to read the small print. this item is lightweight and super big which is great. it uses normal batteries in the handle and can be fitted by sliding the cover with your thumbs towards you, bit fiddly but easy. reading the newspaper is easy now for him. After trying a few magnifying glasses, most were too small, this one it is fab and for the price amazing.

This is comfortable to hold and has a handy light built in. Unfortunately, the magnification is pretty useless. It does make text slightly larger and clearer, however, if you need something enlarging quite a lot, there are an additional 2 small magnifiers built in. It does feel like a quality item though

Very large, clear viewing circle. Usually, the little circle within the glass that gives extra magnification, can annoy me but the glass is so large on this magnifier, that I don't notice it in my field of vision. It came with its own very nice cleaning cloth. Excellent value for money.
