I feel like an idiot that I've been using a file on my lathe without a handle for years. Why I never thought about buying handle for it completely escapes me at this point. However, after watching a few videos on YouTube I was reminded I didn't have a handle on my vise, so I set out to find one. I landed on this and it worked out great. Rotate it to loosen up the clamps, inserted my file into it, and tightened it down. It was one of those moments when I went "duh!". I already used it when doing some machining and was awesome. Sometimes the simple things make all the difference, and this handle feels high quality, worked very well, and will make things just that much nicer when machining parts. Review: Simple but very effective design. - Holds the item perfectly on 12 inch American pattern, double cut, flat hand file from same brand.Obviously, need to widen the opening by rotating the ring until file enters, as by default arrives closed. Perhaps a wood handle would have been more comfortable, but wood long-term chips into two, whereas this design will stand the test of time.
