UHMWPE core
Upon receipt it looked like this product had a polyester core. However, burn and melt tests proved that it is definitely a UHMWPE core - UHMW-PE’s high molecular weight means it will not melt or flow as a molten liquid. The line is well made with very little compress-ability, unlike cheap double braid polyester line.Good seller feedback and great price.

Hard to taper, cover is very slippery
This does appear to be UHMWPE based on the a burn and a float test of the core (there was some doubt), but spicing/burying the splice doesn't seem to work well.. the core doesn't want to hold the end of the spice into itself. I had to whip around the end of the splice area, which is odd, but I could live with that.Secondly, the cover is very slippery and it holds poorly on a non-self-tailing Lewmar 40 winch I use for primary genoa trim that has no issue with other lines I've used in the past.I would not recommend this line for regular use as a heavy-load running rigging line from my experience.
