One of the best games on the GBA.
After playing the first Golden Sun a month or so after it came out, I was immediatly hooked and hungry for the sequel. As soon as I realised The Lost Age was nearing it's release a couple of years ago, I began to mention it many times in conversation in the hopes that I would get it for Christmas, and my family did deliver. I loved the second game so much that you would have to pry it from my cold, dead hands to get me to stop playing. Usually when a sequel to a game comes out, they are not as good as the first game - look at Final Fantasy X and X-2, for instance. That is not the way with this game. I find The Lost Age to be a far, far better game than it's predecessor, and since the first Golden Sun is not far short of perfection, that's saying something. The second installment starts at Venus Lighthouse moments before it is lit, and you play as Jenna at first, the girl who was kidnapped at the start of Golden Sun. Soon after Sheba and Jenna's brother Felix joins you, and you play as Felix from that point on. With far more Djinn to find, many more character classes and Psynergy, and tons more towns and areas to explore, this game seems to be even bigger than the first. There are certain items that give you character classes you can achieve no other way, and there are dungeon-esque levels that grant you new Psynergy when completed. The only minor flaw in the game is the dialouge - the characters seem to love yapping their heads off for long periods of time. Their conversations are very interesting the first time you play the game as it gives more insight into the characters past and the world of Weyard, but when you're playing it for the sixth time you just want to yell "I KNOW! SHUT UP ALREADY!" and mash the A button. The gameplay and the story, however, doesn't get old no matter how much you play.Buy this game. If you don't, you're a nut.

Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age
Golden Sun 2 is the sequel to the brilliant Golden Sun. Whilst it doesn't break much new ground for RPG's it takes almost every good aspect from other RPG's and integrates it seamlessly.Graphics 5/5The graphics are breathtaking for a Game Boy Advance game. The world is bright and colourful and the character sprites are well animated.Amazingly even the menu interface is clear and easy to use. This is usually a problem with Game Boy RPG's as fitting lots of stats proves difficult on a tiny Game Boy Advance Screen.Gameplay 4/5Whilst it may not be original, it has everything a RPG needs. Such as exciting turn based battles, over-the-top magical effects, cool summon spells and a good solid story.Lifespan 4/5If you have played the original Golden Sun then you have already invested hours and hours into this game. The game is pretty long and if you undertake the sidequests you’re looking at 60+ hours of gameplay.Summary 4/5An excellent RPG that uses the best bits from many other RPG’s. If your fan of the RPG genre you'll be in heaven, if not then give it a try you might be pleasantly surprised.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age.
HiI ma kinda new to amazon and saw a few reviews on one of my favourite games, Golden Sun: The Lost Age. This game is absolutely amazing. Sorry to go off the subject but I am a huge Zelda fan. For the past 4-5 years I have been trying to find a game as good as Zelda, but failed in my quest. Once I got this game, I was so glad to enjoy another game as much as I enjoyed Zelda. The gameplay in Golden Sun 2 is so very well structured. You can never get bored. This game is great, I hope they make a third!!!by Qays

Stupendous!
This is simply the best title that has ever come out on any Game Boy system, not to mention one of the best RPG's ever made. It is not just a solve the dungeons, get the items, save the people type of game. It goes beyond that, almost as if you're involved in a really long interactive movie that you have to figure out as you go along. For those of you who are planning to try to play this without completing the first Golden Sun, I definitely don't recommend it. You will not understand the plot, why you're being asked to do any of the things you're doing, or how to use Psynergy, Djinni, or Items to your full advantage. While the first Golden Sun does a little better at easing you into these skills, this game kicks right in where the old game left off. For those of you who DID complete the first one, be prepared for another 40+ hours of gaming along with some upgraded sound and music, and pretty much the exact same terrific gameplay and graphics as the first one, which is definitely a good thing. The password transfer system, while it is a giant pain in the butt, is a really terrific feature, because not many people will have an extra system laying around to transfer their old characters via link cable. I recommend the Gold Password and having all of your old Djinn as well. There are good step by step instructions in the booklet as to how to accomplish this data transfer. So in closing, this is a terrific game on a terrific system. Get it!!!

A perfect sequel to a near-perfect game
A perfect sequel to a near-perfect game. Fans of RPGs in general, and especially fans of the original, should not pass up the opportunity to experience this game. Absolutely every aspect of the first game is built on, expanded, or refined, whether it be narrative, combat, visuals, overworld exploration...it is so rare that a sequel so succeeds. Highly, highly, recommend.

This seller sells bootleg games don't buy from him.
I bought golden sun brand new from this guy and the game was an obvious bootleg. The save battery died out in a few weeks and I only spent about 5 hours playing it. The game stuck out of my GBA like it didn't fit just right I was suspicious at first... the sells name was outlinedeal. After the game died and became corrupted I decided to take a look inside to replace the battery but it was all wrong, you could see it was a bootleg from the inside and Nintendos name was no where inside where it should be. Slap this guy on the wrist. It had to have been pre shrink wrapped because it was wrapped and didn't include the manual or anything that a normal GBA game would include. Made wasted 40 bucks. Golden sun though, is a GREAT game, either get the ROM or buy it from someone more legit.

Great old games.
With this game and it's predecessor Golden Sun, I'm reliving my high school years playing these immensely fun games. I'm also glad to have a DS Lite so that once this installment is complete I can move into the third iteration Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.
