I was worried about it being strong enough. it is great.

The first one that came was broken (the clips were cracked). They replaced it and that one works great. Good quality.

Solid pole for pool usage. Extends out and locks with ease, solid in the hands, not flimsy. Long enough to basically reach across my 18 ft pool with ease, strong enough to get those water logged pool toys and pull them out.Seller was great working with - resolved issues with the delivery process immediately!

This pole is not strong when fully lengthened. It broke the first time.

Last year, I made the mistake of opting for a cheaper, store-brand Telescopic Pool pole, which, while initially $10 cheaper, turned out to be a frustrating experience as it constantly slid in and out on its own after just six months of use. I decided to try this Telescopic Pool pole, and boy, am I glad I did! Despite being only $10 more, this pole is 10X better. The build quality is top-notch, with a nice weight to it that gives you confidence in its durability and reliability. Using it has been an absolute pleasure – no more annoying slipping issues while brushing or cleaning the pool. I couldn't be happier with this purchase, and this pool pole is worth every penny. This pole allows me to sweep algae all the way from my shallow end to the deep end near the drain. I use it fully extended. Of course it's not completely rigid at that length but it's study and does the job perfectly.

It doesn't make much sense to design a 18' long pole, that will bend/break if extended anything past half of that distance. But let's be generous and assume they give you that reach for something OTHER than it's primary purpose. Maybe you just want to hit a light switch 18' away... this pole would help do that. I guess. But using a pool vac or a brush? This pole is so weak it would break/bend at anything past 8-9'.Even if you use the pole at much shorter lengths to prevent it from failing, the locks which keep the pole in place require (sic) 15lbs of torque to keep in place... but THEY BREAK at 10lbs of torque! In other words, you either don't tighten down enough, and the pole slips; or you apply enough pressure, and the cheap-o plastic locks BREAK. This is what happened to me on the SECOND TIME I used it.Utter and completely useless garbage.

The pole can extend far enough to easily scoop leaves that got under the netting from the very bottom of my pool. the purpose for which I bought it. Care does need to be taken to insure that the tighteners are screwed down tightly, because if a section of the pole slips out, it is a hassle retrieving the sunken sections. This caveat is true of all extendable poles I've purchased, however, and not specific to this one. A heavier pole might be better for keeping a hand vacuum on the bottom to suck what gets left behind, but this was perfect when used with my net, which filled up quickly and needed to be removed and shaken to empty it often. Perfect for what I wanted.
