Corbin Bernsen stars as Dr. Alan Feinstone, a rich and successful Beverly Hills dentist. There's only one problem with him, he's nuts. He loves perfection, and he expects it of everyone Since no one in this world is perfect, he becomes annoyed, so annoyed that he commits murder. Review: โDentists are a necessary evil.โ - Poor Dr. Alan Feinstone (Corbin Bernsen) has trouble with the IRS, thereโs a stain on his shirt, and his wife is having a dalliance with the pool-man. Everything else is just rotten, infected, filthy! He has hallucinations and heโs armed and definitely dangerous. His first victim is a dog that dares to bite him. After that, everything escalates. Two of his patients have to be carried out of his office. The police are closing in. And he discovers the perfect way to fire troublesome employees. Weird and wacky and slightly wonderful, in an odd fashion. I was surprised at how much I loved this film. It takes some time getting started, but when it doesโwow. It's totally bonkers. Review: A classic. - Movie was well made, story made sense and followed in a well made direction. It outlined the struggles that a dentist may face in life. Always cleaning teeth knowing many people care little about dental hygiene. Just delaying the inevitable as the same people who may end of losing their teeth in life and or end up getting cavities still go to dentists for regular cleaning. Imagine how the dentists feel? Well, this is a caricatured example. Obviously a dentist is unlikely to become a killer, but the concept that a dentist cleans over and over again and deals with yet more and more "filth" as the protagonist(or antagonist) calls it, can probably hit home for a lot of dentists out there.

We Gifted a Dentist with it
We bought this video to "gift" it to a Dentist who we found arrogant, self-centered, nasty and who caused us to loose faith in the world of dentistry. As for the film - we really enjoyed the "B-movie" as this was such a "tour de force" for one of our favorite actors, Corbin Bernsen. In this low budget, horror-comedy film we found many truths about the human condition even though "Rotten Tomatoes" killed it with their rating system. However, 80% of the Google users who saw it liked it - We did too. As for the dentist we "gifted" this film to. . . we later found out he had no idea why he received this anonymous gift.

I am an instrument of cleanliness and perfection...
This is above all a very well written horror torture porn tragicomedy, I'd say. Tragicomedy instead of dark comedy because you really get that breaking apart of a whole human being that you see in movies like Falling Down, Damage, Death of a Salesman...* Our anti-hero, Dr Alan Feinstone (Corbin Bernsen) appears to have led a life coloring within the legal lines; he appears to have given a lot to set up his practice, and has reason to feel that he's sacrificed a lot to his wife; it seems they once worked together as partners, but now she enjoys a sort of luxurious early retirement, staying home days, spending lots of money and, Alan discovers at the start of the movie, sleeping with the pool cleaner. That's the last straw, and for the rest of the movie we simply cringe as the camel's back slowly breaks. *I'm sure there's an equivalent for a woman character out there, but right now all I can think of is Act II of Bridesmaids (LOL)

Brush 3 Times A Day - Without Candy
Life's unexpected detours postponed my viewing and review of the film "The Dentist". I just finished watching it...and many of you were eager for my take on this film before you rented/bought it. Are you ready? If you like going to your dentist, this film will cure you of that. If you don't like going to your dentist, this film will serve as the last nail in the coffin and you may never visit one again. Let me quote some of the dialogue from this HORROR film. "I am an instrument of perfection and hygiene. The enemy are decay and corruption. I am a dentist and I have a lot to do." Corben Bernsen plays the role of Dr. Feinstone...and he is the master of this film that will serve as a shocking testimony of how we put trust and faith in those that "work" on our mouths. I don't give away plots...but I need to make some statements that will lead you towards, or away, from this film. Who is cleaning what?...teeth or swimming pools? A positive dental experience is one that includes a dental chair with surround sound and environmental decoration. No mercy! "Pain is an abstract emotion." And lastly...be sure to brush 3 times a day...without candy. "The Dentist" is an intense, horrific, shocking...painful film (even though it is low budget). Wanna twist, turn and squirm? Watch it! On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest in the horror genre), "The Dentist" gets a 7.5...but Corben Bernsen in the lead role gets a solid 10. I gotta go brush my teeth...BYE!!!

With a name like "The Dentist"
One night some years ago while flipping through the movie channels on cable, I happened to stumble upon this gem of a movie. With a name like "The Dentist", I usually would have instantly turned the channel, but the premise in the small description sounded so weird, I decided to give it a chance...and boy am I glad I did! I know this is listed under horror, but it's more of a dark and twisted comedy than anything else, so funny my sides were honestly hurting after viewing. Corbin Bensen plays his part of the sick and demented dentist up to the hilt and has no short supply of one-liners that will have you out of breath in laughter. If you're the movie-phile type looking for great directing, cinematography and the like, look elsewhere. But if your sitting up toasty one night with nothing else to do and want some mindless entertainment to pass the time, give this movie a shot. You certainly won't be disappointed.
