No way it would fit into a 9” cut. It’s 9” at the back. But tapered to 9.25” at the front. It’s the front that has to fit the cutout. **Q: Can you install a power outlet inside this box?** A: There are two holes on each side of the 3 knockouts for electrical boxes. The problem is that trying to find a box with ears that align with those holes is challenging. Legrand sells a kit over $30 that includes a box, switch plate cover and outlet but it is way overpriced for what it is considering you can buy a metal box, outlet and switch plate cover for under $8. If you go to the blue big box store, you can get the 3.5" deep Raco Model #8590 box that aligns pretty well if you use #8 washers under the two screws that hold the ears in place on both side of the box. You can see my review that gives pictures about this. **Q: With samsung connect box, do i need the 17" with bracket or without bracket? what is the bracket exactly?** A: The bracket version is not necessary for mounting the Samsung One Connect Box.
