I make a gallon of sweet tea per week and always used to use 1 cup of normal sugar to sweeten it.  Now, all I need is a little less than 1/2 (one half) of a teaspoon to sweeten it nicely.  My wife still thinks it is too sweet, but I love it.  You need so little of pure Sucralose to sweeten things, this little 100g bag will end up lasting us about six months!  Respect your dosages, though.  And, buy a set of those tiny measuring spoons.  It's easy to use too much, and have your dessert/beverage end up way too sweet.  Hope that helps...

Generic Sucralose can be purchased for around $9 for 1000 packets. So this is 1000g. How can you justify spending $20 on 100g?

Your assumption is incorrect.  $9 for 1000 "packets" is NOT packets of pure Sucralose.  It is packets of generic Splenda.  The powder in a Splenda packet is a mixture of a tiny amount of Sucralose and other sugars:

"Splenda usually contains 95% dextrose (D-glucose) and maltodextrin (by volume) which the body readily metabolizes, combined with a small amount of mostly indigestible sucralose." --Wikipedia

The reason for this is simple and does not constitute deviousness by the manufacturer of Splenda.  A "packet" is a container conveniently-sized to break open and pour a sweetness equivalent of two teaspoons of sugar into coffee, etc.  A  packet containing pure Sucralose in an amount equivalent to the sweetness of two teaspoons of sugar would be so tiny as to be difficult to open (think a packet about 25 times smaller than a Splenda packet), and then the few grains of pure Sucralose powder would stick to your fingers or the inside the packet and would likely not make the trip into your coffee at the intended concentation.  In other words, without dilution pure Sucralose is too concentrated to be manageable for small amounts of sugar sweetness equivalents such as a few teaspoons.

I make a sucralose solution by weighing out 15g of sucralose 15 gams = 1/2 ounce or 6 teaspoons into a measuring cup sitting on a digital scale. Then I add 240grams 8 ounces of lukewarm water and stir until all the sucralose is dissolved.I bought a plastic bottle from Amazon, it has an opening that allows single drops so I can count what I need.  Personally, I use 8 drops of sucralose mixture per mug.Hope this helps.  Love the product, will save so much money because Splenda is super expensive.
