Invaluable
As a professional gardener I bought the power planter hoping to make life a bit easier. Well, this is a product that certainly does what it says. We absolutely zipped through over 3000+ spring bulbs in half a day. It is one of those pieces of equipment you have in your van or shed and are glad you have it when the need arises.Worth every penny. Already saved me half a days wages for 2 members of staff.Thank you power planter guy for inventing such a useful bit of kit. As they say, the best inventions are the simplest ones.Andrew Hindle

A revolutionary tool
Planting narcissi bulbs in hard, slightly stony ground the augur was brilliant - speeding the process immeasurably. I can't recommend it more highly and will now buy a second, smaller diameter version for planting miniature bulbs. It's a great tool: I demonstrated it to our local nurseryman and he was suitably impressed too.The product deserves to be a great success.

Wonderful garden tool
What a fantastic tool, we wanted to plant 100 dafodil bulbs in the grass verge outside our house which was hard after a hot summer and full of roots, with a good quality 18v drill my wife and I completed the job in just under 30 minutes with very little effort. It is so good I am thinking of planting another 100. It's a great tool, very well made and very easy to use buy one and brighten up some spring time verges.

Great auger
I didn’t have an 18v drill to hand when I used the planter so made do with a less powerful one. It worked fine when used with care. I planted100 bulbs to 4 inches depth in about an hour. I have weak wrists and fingers and have to sit down rather than kneel yet the task was easily accomplished. If you drill the holes slowly then it’s easy to do.

Works well
This are quite sturdy but I would have liked another couple of welds attaching the spiral to the centre for ultimate strength but as long as you are not using it in very stoney ground it should be quite durable. Using an 18v cordless drill on slow setting it sliced through small roots of a bush without difficulty and created a good hole for planting daffodil bulbs. It also proved very useful for breaking up heavily compacted soil around the base of small trees to be able to plant autumn/winter bedding plants. Recommended.

Works Well
Very straightforward to use and allows me to plant daffodil bulbs where otherwise it would be very difficult - under trees etc. Much quicker to work with than any other method. Am considering buying the smaller drill as well for tulip bulbs etc., but will wait until I see if the daffodils come up next year.

Makes digging almost a pleasure
120 bulbs planted in my lawn in 75 minutes, then several post-holes dug for wooden stakes for edging.Holes for larger plants (shrubs) are easily made by overlapping several smaller ones.No apparent deterioration in the appearance or effectiveness of the tool after about 5 hours' use.Better with a drill that has a side handle, but usable on one without so long as you're careful. No more backache!

Doesn't seem to work ?
This just doesn't seem to work ? Tried it in three different places in the lawn, no planting hole produced just a flattened circle of grass. Had to use a trowel to create the planting hole which defeats the object. Also tried in earth in a border, just threw the soil around a bit. Just doesn't seem sharp enough to cut a hole. Sending back, perhaps I have a faulty one ?
