My husband really love this book so he introduced it to our kids and our kids love it too.

I always loved the original Nancy Drew stories & read all of them as a child. I came across this set when shopping for a 9 year old's birthday and knew that I had to purchase it!It comes in a box and includes 5 original Nancy Drew books.It makes a great gift for a child that loves to read!

I had never read Nancy Drew books, so I started to read Book 1 to determine what I thought of it. I found that in just the first several pages, there were three characters who had lost one or both parents in childhood. The 5-year-old child rescued by Nancy had lost both of her parents due to an accident, that child's mother had also lost both of her parents when she was little, and Nancy herself, who is 18 in the story, had lost her mother. I was concerned that my sensitive, introspective 9-year-old granddaughter might be troubled by those scenarios and worry about her own life, so I returned the set. I am surprised not to find other reviewers expressing concern about this, but I believe that it is important to take into account, even if only so adults can prepare children - especially younger, impressionable ones - for what they will encounter in the book.

JerryRigEverything (Youtube channel) was building a brand new 19,000 book size facility in Doldol, Kenya for children ages 5-16.They don't have enough literacy in Kenya, so Zach (the YT channel owner who built this library) was looking for donations from folks abroad. And this is one of the books (sets) that I donated.Children's books like these were building blocks for children like myself to form good values and learn lessons that would serve us later in life. And this is the perfect type of reading material for young impressionable minds. I fondly remember turning back the colorful pages of text books like this during my youth.You simply can't go wrong with this purchase. It applies to any generation.
