Will this make me be able to play exactly like Neil Peart? Or do I have to spend more on a better kit?

I haven't tried using it myself, but I will say yes, it will. However, if you want to improve on those skills by playing like Danny Carey, this unit will leave you equally disappointed and frustrated. The good news is that no matter what instrument you end up with, a Faustian deal with the devil will gain you rock stardom/immortality 100% of the time, even if you suck...case in point: Lars Ulrich.

I'm an adult that is thinking about picking up the drums but I have almost no experience with them at all. Would this kit be a good place to start? How applicable would the progress I make be to a real drum set? Unfortunately, I live in an apartment and a real drum set isn't an option presently.

This is a great set. Sounds like my $1500 electronic drum set on my keyboard amp or headphones. You'll want to get really good headphones, but this is a great system to start on. I had to make a stand to anchor the foot pedals. And even then, the high hat and kicker don't fire every time. But I felt I got my money's worth. I've since upgraded to a Yamaha dtx-562. But that cost about ten times as much. Have fun! :-)

does this kit come with sticks?

Yes it does come with a set of sticks

Can i plug this into a recording program? such as presonus/studio one and be able to lay tracks?

Yes. Any product with a usb out and midi advertised allows you to connect and use it with any major recording program (DAW software) on the market today - generally most OS (Windows, Mac, Linux) these days will work out of the box without installing drivers. It will translate trigger and pressure response into midi signals and whatever drum kit or other instrument patch you wish to hook into in your software will be recognized with it. Just be aware that with most midi controllers you will be manually programming which pads correspond to which instrument notes in software - they often don't work out of the box perfectly without a good deal of tinkering to make each pad correspond to the specific drum you want. But there are many guides online on how to do this.

buena relación en precio, calidad y funcionabilidad, bueno para alguien que requiere practicar, pero además lo puedes conectar a tu pc o ipad (para ipad se requiere cable adaptador) para disparar sonidos de vst, y por cierto los sonidos incorporador algunos suenan bien y son decentes, por otra parte me di cuenta que este mismo digital drum kit es el que vende alesis y medeli a costos mas elevados

Excellent!! Gave this to my 9yr old son for Christmas... He was wanting a full size drum kit so compromised and purchased this one. The sound is excellent, it does so much! My son hasn't stopped playing and recording on it...plus the best bit, it takes headphones ;0)

This is an amazing little Digital / Electronic Drum unit, especially for the price. I actually like some of the features on this more than some features of my more expensive Yamaha DD65 Electronic Drums. This is basically a less expensive option - though for me, I am using this unit to supplement my Yamaha DD65 Electronic Drums. I patch the Pyle-Pro PTED01 through my Yamaha DD65 unit and end up with a total of 19 Drum Pads (when playing both kits together) Even on its own, the Pyle-Pro PTED01 is really a nice little unit. Play through headphones or, patch through a stereo or PA system. I haven't had the problem with missed hits as some have mentioned but imagine it could be an occasional issue. One trick I use with these digital drums is to work the foot pedals with the heal of the foot instead of my toe. Takes some getting use to but works really well when playing double-bass. As with any compact digital drum unit, precision is key. Over time, you will become a very accurate drummer. This wasn't an issue with me as I use to play a lot of Rototoms. This unit has a variety of sounds to choose from and a hand percs option. Enjoy! The only negative remarks would be that some of the sounds do have a slight noise at the fade-out stage. Only really noticeable with headphones. I would like better mounting options per stand. But hey, for the price, this is pretty amazing! .
