Tetra Pond AlgoRem Green Water Treatment, Environmentally Conscious Treatment, 500 ml

This product is amazing! I had green water in my pond and after only 30mins of adding this stuff, all the algae from the bottom started bubbling to the surface (pic1) after a couple hours, I scooped out as much as I could with a tub and waited. Checked 24 hours later and my pond is amazingly clear (pic2), I can see more than 10 newts, when I thought I only had a few and the frogs are loving life again too. It caused no harm to the animals in there and I'm hoping the effects last.Even if they don't, I will happily buy this stuff again. I've tried many pond cleaning products and none work anywhere near as well as this one. One very happy customer! 😊

My small garden pond (6' x 6' x 2') has resembled a large bowl of thick green pea soup for some time now. Ugly and off-putting. Have tried a more expensive product three times in the past two years with only very limited (and long time coming) success. Indeed my last use of that dearer product made no difference whatsoever. In desperation I bought this Tetra Pond Green water treatment and yesterday around midday, nervously gave it a try. I say 'nervously' because I live in a soft water area (the bottle instructions warn that this might make the product less suitable, and that fish might then be discomforted - it warns to watch for signs of them gasping for air on the surface.) So, I poured in the required amount... and waited. Less that two hours later, the green pea soup had started to gather itself into stringy masses on the surface of the pond, exposing clearer water underneath, through which I spied for the first time in weeks, my four red goldfish. I kept my eye on the them for signs of distress; they did indeed come to the surface, but did not appear distressed. A couple of hours later I decided to try to remove the messy algae mass with a net, but the mesh was too large. I waited until evening before another attempt, this time using the edge of a plastic bowl to draw the surface liquid into. Within half an hour most of it had gone into the bowl (which was now full of the thick dark green liquid) whilst the pond was clearer still. The fish had now settled and were swimming about naturally, no longer in any way gasping. I imagined I'd be using the bowl again in the morning to remove the last traces of surface green sludge, but by the morning, all traces of the greenery had gone, my little pond restored.PS: There is a need (sadly) for repeated use as the green water inevitably it seems, returns. I still use the product fairly regularly even though the effects are not as long lasting as I'd like.

This is good product and was effective in clearing up my small pond in about 4 to 6 hours. Will definitely recommend if you have a small garden pond with algae problem. My pond water is green and this made it clear. However, I found that it is not that effective in stopping algae from reforming. So looks like I will have to keep using this on a regular basis.

Although the order arrived in good time and the packaging was undamaged, I was surprised to find that one of the bottles DID NOT have a lid! I've bought soanybof these in the past so I know that they ALWAYS come with a lid secured with clearn circular sticky pads (over the screw-on top).One of the two bottles was missing this lid! This leaves the contents of the bottles open to tampering/watering down etc.

My small garden wildlife pond is an irregular shape and I have no idea how much water it holds. We have newts and frogs, so wanted something wildlife safe that would clear the very green water. I put in 2 capfuls late afternoon and the following morning the water was crystal clear.

I've had to edit my review:Previously I have raved about this product - it was incredible, the algae cleared before my eyes. I dragged my children out to watch it working. I told friends with ponds to use it. I set up a subscription so that a bottle would arrive every 8 weeks.....but then....the latest bottle that was delivered had absolutely no effect at all. Nothing. Nada. Not a thing. It didn't even try to work. I might as well have added a litre bottle of water to my pond. Don't know if it is a faulty batch, whether the formula has changed, or whether the algae in my pond is now different, but it was completely useless. I might try one more delivery, but if that doesn't work, the subscription will be cancelled. How do you return a product that you have poured into a pond?The only rational explanation for what this stuff does is witchcraft. Tetra are clearly in league with the devil. How else can you explain a murky green pond being transformed into clear water literally in front of your eyes, over the space of a few hours?I started off using a pond vac to remove the clumps formed by the algae sticking together, but found it was just as easy to remove them with a fine mesh net. It was fun to disturb a small area of sediment and watch the algae clumps form and rise to the top ready to be scooped out.Has really spurred me on to make more of a feature of the pond. I've signed up to the regular delivery service which will hopefully keep the pond sparkling and clear. Who knows, I might get some fish to join the newts and frogs.

After wasting money on other products, it was an absolute joy to find that this worked overnight. The pond water is crystal clear and hasn't needed another treatment. The newts and Tadpoles are now visible!
