Q: Who thinks this flex design is better than hard card design and why?

The flexible design allows you to put it in a soft pouch with, say, a cable and an Apple MagSafe Battery Pack (as I have; see my review with pics). The soft shape allows it to bend naturally with the contents and the neoprene pouch. Even in a larger pouch/pocket/bag, this TagVault prevents the AirTag from sliding around and potentially being lost; an AirTag's only the size of a quarter, and about as thick as three of them. LIke the Elago AirTag holders, this makes the very small AirTag less likely to slip into cracks or fall out. Also: if it drops on a hard surface, this may cushion the impact a bit (not guaranteed if it "falls butter side down"). Another benefit: in a slim cardholder wallet, the soft silicone "grips" to the adjacent credit card where a hard plastic insert would slide off, and potentially right out of the cardholder pocket. I hope this gives you some ideas. :)

Q: What’s the difference between airtag and airtag wallet? besides the size, do they both serve the same purpose?

Air tag wallet is a wallet that has a place for an airtag built in. The wallet card allows you to put an airtag into your wallet, which i did. Love it. Will never lose my wallet again.

Q: I wonder how inserting a piece of rubber/plastic plus one solid air tag will make my wallet thinner ?

I had a similar concern , but I've had mine for a year and find it actually works. It doesn't make your wallet "thinner", and yes, it adds a bit of material, but the way it's designed eliminates the "bump" in my wallet and makes it more comfortable. Further, now the air tag doesn't move around or fall out like before I got TagVault. I'm happy I got one.

Q: Being so close to your credit cards, does this affect the card's chip or the magnetic strip on the card's back?

I have had one in my wallet for quite some time and I have not had any difficulty or problems with any of the cards that I carry. I would have to say NO, it will not affect your cards.
