can it be smoothed with alcohol 99%?

I believe you want to use mineral spirits/ oil based paint thinner

How hard does it get? I want to make a 1/10 scale car mold & then vacuume form plexiglass around it.

The colder the better, but it doesn't really get hard. It's oil based clay.
