How long does it last for the hear to run out

You determine how hot it is at the start by how long you heat in the microwave. I heat for 2 1/2 minutes and then it lasts for a good 30-40 minutes

Does this fall down with the tie around? I have one that velcro on and never falls down but I need a back-up one.

This tie can hold the heat wrap's weight very well. The tie won't stick to your nice clothing either. You will be happy with this heat wrap. Before we fill it with flax seeds, the heating area is 22 inches long. After filling, it became smaller. It still measures 18 inches wide and 10 inches tall.
