The Best of 1990–2000 is the second greatest hits album by U2. It was released on November 5, 2002. The album contained two newly recorded tracks, "Electrical Storm" and "The Hands That Built America". The album also included "new mixes" of several songs, as well the tracks "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" (which was released as a single in 1995 but had not previously been included on a U2 album) and "Miss Sarajevo" (also released as a single in 1995). Pressed on two 180G vinyl LP’s. Review: A Clever Collection - Great New Mixes and Tracks - This collection largely summarizes U2s last ten years. The limited edition is a must have by the fans of u2. The booklet has great photos and is fun to look over and over again. One wishes to have a poster of each picture. The first disc is simply great. No single artist on the face of this earth can top that disc. The new track Electrical Storm is great, as usual. The Hands That Built America, althought it feels a bit weird to listen for the first few times, is a good song. The new mix of Gone is far better than its album version and feels like a new song. Discotheque's New mix is also great, expect the "bum-che" oart at the end was omitted and it is weird to listen Bono just shout "Discotheque." Numb's new mix is also better than its album version. I would argue if the new Staring At the Sun is better than the album version. The new mix is more POP, maybe the way intended, but I am glad to have heard the POP album version. The B-Sides disc is one wild ride. It is hard to get used to the songs at first, but this disc surely represents what U2 has been trying to do in the last decade. It is filled with electronic music and techno mixes of the tracks. One thing is, it is good techno rather than lousy techno. Happiness is a warm Gun, Salome, Dirt Day, Summer Rain, Lady with the Spinning Head and Your Blue Room feat. Adam Clayton are the highlights of this disc. If God will send his angles and Lemon remixes are good. Other remixes just offer different approaches to the songs. It is a matter of taste, they are likeable but on the other hand hateable. The DVD bonus is a goodie. The history mix is very fun to watch over and over again. The Please video is almost a cover up for not including the song in the audio discs... If nothing else this disc only makes you want to buy the upcoming DVD of the Best of 1990 - 2000. Over all, this is a great disc to own. If you are not a fan I suggest the single disc version. Review: excelente embalaje - Excente embalaje y buen tiempo de llegada a Colombia, muy bien.

When it comes to HIT's CDs U2 knows how to do it right. Not only does this CD set contain a great selection of there hits (Even Better Then The Real Thing, Mysterious Day, Beautiful Day, One, Miss Sarajevo, Stay, Gone, Until The End Of The World, Etc.,) from 1990-2000, it gives us alternative mixes some of the hits such as Gone, Discotheque and Starring At The Sun and two new songs Electrical Storm (two versions) and The Hands That Built America. It also gives us a whole disk of B sides (Dirty Day junk Day mix, North and South Of The River, Salome, If God Will Send His Angels, etc.,), which are all very cool and a bonus DVD. The three disk makes this package a very good bargain. The Bonus DVD includes The History Mix, U2 The Best Of 1990-2000 DVD trailer, Please-Live Mural Cut, and Beautiful Day-EZE Version. This is a must get for any and every U2 fan and if you don;t have any U2 in your collection get this CD and There Best of 1980-1990, you won't be sorry.

One Shot of Happy, Two Shots of Sad
This "Best of w/ B-Sides 1990-2000" collection is not as fulfilling as the "Best of w/ B-Sides 1980-1990" collection released two years ago, but it does contains some unique and obscure material worthy of your time and money. For those unfamiliar with U2's "Best of" sets, these are the creme of the singles crop, not the creme of the crop of all songs released on albums. If you want the BEST of U2, you will have to buy every album they've produced. If you want a good overview of the band's work, these are a good place to get acquainted; the 1990-2000 set is no exception. One Shot of Happy: This set boasts some of the best songs U2 produced in the last decade: "One", "Stay(Faraway, So Close", "Gone", and "Beautiful Day", among them. It also contains two NEW songs: "Electrical Storm", a song about a fracturing relationship that grows on you with each listen, and "The Hands That Built America", an evocative theme-song for "Gangs of New York" that is a cross between "Heartland" from Rattle and Hum and "Miss Sarajevo" from Passengers: Original Soundtracks. I bought this "Best of" collection for the two new songs, and I'm glad I did. Two Shot of Sad (Part One): I am not a fan of remixes. This set is 50% remixes, if you include the "new mix" versions of some of U2's hit singles. These remixes range from "what's the point" to "very interesting". I always preferred "Staring at the Sun (lab rat mix)" and "Lemon (perfecto mix)" of the remixes I have heard, but they were not included on the album. The "new mixes" are sometimes improvements on the originals, "Numb" a case in point. Two Shots of Sad (Part Two): I found the selection of the creme of the singles to be spotty, and I was NOT pleased with the paltry selection of B-side songs--I don't view remixes as being true B-sides, because they are simply reworkings of songs, not new ones. First, the singles. Where is "The Fly", "Lemon", "Please", "Mofo", "Walk On", and "Elevation"? In particular, "Mofo" always seemed to be the capstone to a trilogy of songs ("Discotheque", "Do You Feel Loved?", "Mofo") in "Pop", and to omit it is to lose the most powerful song in the set; shame, shame, shame. (Given that Bono has said that his whole life is in that song, why would U2 omit it?) "The First Time" was never a single, so it really doesn't belong in this set of "best of" singles; frankly, "The Hands That Built America" doesn't below here either for the same reason, though I'm glad it's here. Second, the B-sides. Forget the remixes. Where are the really good B-side songs, like "Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad", "Always", and "Sunday Bloody Sunday (live from Sarajevo)"? Where are "Holy Joe", "Pop Muzik", "Where Did It All Go Wrong", "I'm Not Your Baby", and "Alex Descends Into Hell for a Bottle of Milk"? Maybe they aren't all great, but the B-sides on the 1980-1990 weren't all great either; I was still glad to have them. So, if you want all of those songs, you'll have to try to buy the CD singles. Summary: If you want the new songs and some interesting new takes on classic songs, buy this set. If you are a remix fan, buy this set. If you are new to this period of U2's music, buy this set. It doesn't contain all of the best of their singles, but it's a fine selection. If you only want LOTS of unusual B-sides that aren't simply remixes, then stay away and hunt down the CD singles. For me, this set was merely one shot of happy, two shots of sad. It should have been the other way around.

U2: More music less militantism
This compilation of the best U2 had to offer since 1990 is a tribute to the evolving style of the group. Foregoing their tried and true militant musical style of the 1980's, U2 created such monolithic albums as "Achtung Baby" and "All That You Can't Leave Behind." This was also a time during which U2 sought to expand their sound by venturing into the land of electronic music with the album Zooropa. The two CD set includes the songs that truly encapsulate the sound of U2 during the 90's, and even though the second CD has some of the less popular b-sides the first CD is nonstop musical bliss. This album is a must have for all fans of U2 and is a good place to start for those of you not familiar with the musical range of this band.
