Heavy, powerful, sharp. Everything I was looking for in a cleaver. Made quick work of 20lbs of frozen venison grind and 5 lbs of frozen pork fatback in my last wild-game-burger-making extravaganza.

I ordered this less than 12 hours ago, and it's already in my hands. It's amazing! They aren't lying about the thickness, quality, weight, or hand-feel. It's easily the best cleaver I've ever used, and it's heavy enough (almost 3lbs) to stand up to daily use. I don't normally really pay attention to packaging, but it's obvious that a lot of care went into the presentation. There's a little welcome card, with a branded cleaning cloth and a pin, which is a nice touch. The ONLY thing I can't comment on is how well it'll take an edge when I have to sharpen it, but it's sharp enough out of the box to get started, and if they were honest about the kind of steel then it shouldn't have any problems. The pictures make it look like a flat blade, but there's a minute curvature, more pronounced at the tip, to it that's hard to see. It makes it just a little easier on your wrists if you're doing anything fine. I love this knife, and you will too.

Although heavy, if you use the weight correctly this cleaver is easy to use. It's all about technique. Quality item.

Also ich bin mir über denn Sinn des Messers nicht ganz im Klaren. Ich hatte es bestellt, weil ich auf der Suche nach einem Kochmesser war, aber das Ding ist ja riesig und handlich ist auch etwas Anderes. Aber für einen Showkoch oder wenn man nach der Jagd das Mammut zerlegen will, ist es sicher gut geeignet. Ging leider zurück.
