I have 2 cats.  Do I need to use 2 different toothbrushes, or can I use same brush for both?

I know this an old question but for anyone wanting to know if you need 2 toothbrushes apparently yes I accidently used the same toothbrush on my cats because i grabbed the wrong color and was worried so I googled it and many sites said that you need 2 seperate toothbrushes because of sickness,bacteria etc.I don't like the toothbrush in this even though I really like the toothpaste I recommend these H&H pets toothbrushes  (the small toothbrush option only)https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072V12ZLQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Question 2

As this is enzymatic, can my cat lick off the toothpaste from my fingers? It's impossible to brush his teeth as he doesnt like it

I would try a different flavored toothpaste for cats, as there are several flavored ones available. There are also some good videos on YouTube on how to brush like approaching from behind with cat facing a mirror...the enzyme will help even without brushing it will help against the bacteria and a soft damp cloth around your finger with toothpaste might be more acceptable in the cat’s mouth at first...I use it in combination with grooming that my cat already likes so it’s always a positive experience! That’s more difficult in winter when she doesn’t need the grooming but I’ld rather it always be a good experience for the cat! But definitely a different flavored cat toothpaste might work better for your cat if your cat won’t lick it!

Is the finger brush really soft. I have been trying to find a soft finger brush to replace my old one. Needs to be flexible for a small mouth! Help!

We always use the finger tip brush on our cats and not the little toothbrush.  It is soft enough and easier to use to massage the gums and clean the teeth.  Each time you get a new tube you get the replacement finger brush.This works very well with our 3 cats.

Does the toothpaste need to be refrigerated after being opened?

Accepted Answer

No.  But watch the expiry date.  If you don't use it often, there may be ingredients that become inactive become distasteful over time.  Your pet will tell you if they don't like it.  My one cat (age 2) demands (loudly) tooth brushing twice daily, the other enjoyed it the first 4 years of her life and the last 3 has flatly refused.  We have tried different flavours, but she had decided it's not for her anymore.
