Does the keyboard get in the way if you want to use tablet mode on the go?

No, I remove the keyboard from the Surface as normal, and I'm in tablet mode. That is what makes the product so versatile...and still protects my Surface Pro.

Awesome case!

This case strikes a happy medium between your standard "gummy" case/sleeve, and a full coverage rugged/healthcare style case. There is a raised lip throughout that protects the edge, and a hand strap that provides "active" protection so you don't drop it in the first place. There is also a holder for the Surface Slim Pen, so you can secure it even without the keyboard cover on. The cord to hold the Keyboard Cover on is handy too. The kickstand is exposed, but it has to be to allow use of the infinite hinge- most cases with kickstands aren't as good as the Surface kickstand. I got a separate clear skin to protect it, which strikes a balance between protection and function. Unless you need a rugged/healthcare case, this is a good balance!
