Hard Red Wheat Flour - Fantasic
I have been baking bread for over 30 years, and just discovered this flour due to being quarantined (Covid-19). Flour has become unavailable locally, and my supply was running out. Ordered this flour hoping it would be as good as what I buy from my local organic store & have been very impressed. Nicely ground, light (some hard wheat flours are kind of solid and firm), which has made for fantastic, delicious bread with an excellent rise. Added in a little white bread flour as I usually do to get a better rise, but I don't think I'll need to do that as the rise was fantastic. I will look to make this my constant source of bread flour in the future. Thank you for a terrific product!

Hard Red Spring Whole Wheat Flour
I made a loaf of Cranberry Wheat Bread in a bread machine and used whole wheat flour from the grocery store. The flour seemed to keep the bread from rising well even tho it was added to usual bread flour as well. So I ordered this Hard Red Spring Whole Wheat Flour to see it this flour would work. It did! The same recipe in the same bread machine with this new whole wheat flour had no problem rising. The yeast was the same but the flour worked better and may have had more gluten in it. So, if you have a problem using store bought whole wheat flour in a recipe, please try this one because I think you will be pleased with it.

Quality flour; arrived damaged
Unfortunately, Amazon simply tossed this in a large box with other items. The bag got a tear in it during shipping, and everything arrived covered in flour. The bulk of the product was still useable, though, and did produce a fine loaf of bread. I will order direct from from the mill next time, as I’m sure they do a better job with the packing than Amazon.

Tastes good
The best thing about this flour is the bread came out very delicious.I usually buy store-bought bread. With the COVID-19 outbreak though, I've completely stopped going to the grocery store, and then, I wasn't able to get any slots for food delivery. Therefore, I decided I'm just going to have to eat whatever I can order through the regular mail.I wasn't sure how to make it so I added 3 cups of this with some salt, baking powder, oil, and water. The thing I thought was weird is it wasn't sticking together like dough normally would. Therefore, I also added 1 cup of Bisquick. I then just put it in a loaf pan and baked it at 350 F for about 35 or 40 min.The loaf of bread I got was much denser, but so flavorful. I'm really enjoying it. On a side note, my dog can be very picky but he was actually begging for a slice. He actually loves this and would never do that with bread I buy at the store (don't worry, he also has plenty of dog food). Anyway, I think I still need to experiment a lot more on baking with this but am happy with purchase.

Novice Baker Who Has Finally Found A Superior Product!
As my Tag Line states, I am a novice baker! I have had many failures because after reevaluating my mistakes...it had everything to do with the flours I was using! So I went on the hunt to try and find the flours that I learned were the best for baking and would show desired results. I took a leep and bought Palouse Brand flours...three to be specific. I purchased their Multi-Purpose 100% Soft White Whole Wheat Flour, the Whole Wheat Bread 100% Hard Red Spring Wheat Flour and the White Bread 100% Hard White Whole Wheat Flour. The results are wonderful!But let me tell you about another very impressive feature of their products...First, it states that they do NOT process nuts, dairy, eggs or soy at their facility! If you read labels like I do, I can't remember when there was a time a processor DIDN'T process other items in their facilities.Second, on the labeling, you are told who (personally) milled and packaged your product as well as the exact date it was milled! My flours were prepared by Laura!Next, I love the reclosable paper bags the product comes in...very solid and easy to open & close. Additionally, since they are a brown bag, it helps to keep the flours fresh...no light leaching.Finally, I am so into how the company takes initiatives to provide high-quality products being a Verified Non-GMO Project, Spokane/Hakashrut/Vaad/Parve, Food Alliance Certified and participates in the Whole Grains Council.Little Bonus - each package has a recipe to try using their products like Sugar Cookies, Tortillas, and Easy Sandwich Bread!Highly recommend...just need more practice on my skills:)

Wonderful Flour!
I love this flour's taste, smell, and consistency! In my bread machine I make bread weekly, and I have had great results with my flour mixture that includes a large portion of this flour. I use part Dark Rye flour, small bit of unbleached all-purpose flour (to help it rise better), and then this hard red spring flour. The bread produced is by far the best I have baked and it's taste is wonderful! I'll stay with this one for sure! Thanks to the Mader family for the hard work that I'm sure it takes to raise this wheat. Take my word for it: you have a winner here!

Made Sourdough Starter Go Nuts!
This flour was a game changer for my established sour dough starter! It made my bread so amazing! Will be a constant staple in my pantry!
