According to the label 1 tablespoon gives you 135mg so if you divide 250mg by 135mg per serving you get roughly 1.85 TABLEspoons or nearly 2 tablespoons. Whoever said 1/16th of a TEAspoon is horribly wrong

I take mine in the morning. It is a personal preference when you wish to take it.

Q: Is the magnesium calm supposed to be a deep red/brown color?

I"m not sure in this product, but magnesium citrate is a white powder that typically will look identical to sugar. I would expect most powdered mag citrate products to be white unless they are adding color or colored ingredients.
