Q: How long would this last for one syrian hamster?

A lifetime- 😉 Maybe not that long, but I have two rabbits and it's lasted 2 months using a large handful about 3 times a week.

Q: Oxbow hay is great quality - but all hay turns brown. Does Amazon get this to you before it is turning brown or do you get a nice green hay?

I buy it locally and I order from Amazon depending on price. The color is the same either way. It is exactly as pictured - kind of a sage greenish color. Not grass green, but not brown either. I buy several different oxbow hays, as well as oxbow bunny basics and oxbow treats and we have a dwarf bunny who is going on 10 years old so I think it's good stuff!

Q: Can this be used as bedding for rats?

It’s a great hay, my bunnies love it. I don’t know about rat bedding. I’d ask a rat person.. or google what bedding to use for rats.

Q: This says "Release date September 11, 2013 ??? Do you have any Fresh Hay that you will sell with a September 2016 Date?

"Release date" appears to refer to when this particular product was first offered for sale in it's current form. This is different from the harvest date and the expiration date, which will be much later.
