SUNDOLPHIN Sun Dolphin Bali 13.5-Foot Tandem Kayak

Sun dolphin Bali 13.5 ss kayak. Scupper holes allow water to drain out of the deck...but also allow eater in. I thought this was a misunderstood concept when everyone was complaining that the kayak "leaks." No....it does actually leak. Granted i was in a moana-esque surf on the ocean, but the storage compartments allow in water and are not water tight. The kayak will actually fill up with water and they know this as there are drain plugs at the ends of the kayak to allow you drain the kayak. You will need an additional waterproof container to put in storage compartments if you dont want your stuff soaked in whitewater conditions. I imagine that in valm water it wont be as much of an issue.Kayak bent when being transported until I secured the nose. This was due to lack of stiffness compared to length and freeway 70mph speeds.There ate actually 3 seats and 3 storage compartments....one review stated erroneously that the kayak wasnt as pictured but mine was exactly as pictured.

Living in Miami, I thought of a kayak as a cheap way to explore the waters nearby. I don't have much experience with kayaks but I can say that's I am extremely satisfied with this one. I have taken it out on Biscayne Bay in windy conditions and it really holds up quite well. The bay is frequented by large boats and even in the wake of large yatchs this thing did not give the slightlest indication of wanting to tip over, it is extremely stable. The hatches are not watertight as they lead directly into the hull but even in rougher water we noticed the only time water gets in is when you are extremely swamped, and even then very little got in. For it's size the weight is very manageable for two to carry. All things considered, for the price I can say that it was worth every penny. I will be using this kayak to explore the waters often.

I looked at kayaks from numerous vendors. I read so many reviews and I Can attest after inspecting this would be a high quality kayak for 2 kayakers who take a lot of adventures together. This thing is a bear. It’s huge. I would suggest someone who has a nice mount and large vehicle use this tandem. I returned this due to the sheer size alone but I would say if you are looking for a good tandem to start yaking this one is the best value. Plenty of room for coolers and items inside. Wide as well if you are large like me. I would go as far as saying you could attach almost any accessory for fishing or a trolling motor. I would think this would be difficult to load and unload a lot for your standard person as it is large and weighs more than an average kayak but man do I wish I had a vehicle and place to store this thing because it made me want to get out on water the same day. Unfortunate to have returned. I would highly recommend this based on my research and inspection. At the price this sits at around $500 you will be hard pressed to find a better option that would not cost significantly more $$ based on researching thoroughly.

We use this to get out to our motor boat on a mooring in the Atlantic ocean. Very happy with it, but it isn't light and definitely would take two people to get it on top of a car. We were surprised at how steady it is when we stand up on it and get into the motor boat. It's a great kayak!

Bought this Kayak for our Lake Powell houseboat. It was an awesome addition to our sports toys and carried up to 3 big college boys easily

I loved this kayak, and was sad to return it (came damaged and I couldn't fix myself). It has tons of space (I am 6'2") and can accommodate 3 people. As other reviews mentioned, the only negative point are the seats... not good at all. It is on the heavier side too, but was expecting that given the size. You most likely need two people all the time to load/unload. Not sure how it works with only one person - I tried with my son.
