This product has a problem of leaking because the hose connections are frail and easy to break. Replaced those with pump hose adapters I had, and problem solved. Works great now pond is clearing up after a couple of days.

The light "fixture" is well made. The water seals are cheap, the mount is a joke, the ballast is junk, the UV light is cheap. I through away the mount and made my own. The ballast burnt out the first week. But I like the stainless steel "fixture", so I will keep it. I order a Polaris ballast EB-1024 UV. I would have bought a Polaris system, but they are too big and I didn't like their water fittings. So wish me luck.

This is a great UV sterilizer. I had an algae issue with my 75 gal reef tank. After I installed the sterilizer it was cleared up in a few days. When I first set up the sterilizer I did have a minor leak. I applied a little silicone sealer to stop the leak. All is good.

When I received it, I was impressed with the weight and heft of the light. Fitting screw on tight and satisfying. No leaks, easy to clamp hoses on the included barbs.

I use these in a cold plunge, and even though I have the power shut off before I get in, I’m still weary of how well these are sealed while they’re running. This one has several “layers” of protection, is very well built, and the included mounting hardware is slick. I do wish they’d include fittings that weren’t plastic, I changed mine out to brass, but for most applications maybe the plastic would be alright.
