A Nice Variety of Vegan Slow Cooker Recipes
Author Martha Drummond has done a good job with this slow cooker recipe collection. The first thing I noted in this Ebook was the excellent presentation and lovely color photos, that added to the appeal of the book right away. The recipes start off with several breakfast choices from the slow cooker. As someone who is an avid cook, vegetarian cooking instructor and cookbook author, it never fails to amaze me just how versatile a slow cooker really is. So many people still think that slow cookers are just good for cooking "big hunks of meat" or a chicken...(I hear that all the time!)and not all the dishes that can actually be made successfully in one of these appliances. Martha Drummond definitely gives the reader a good variety of recipes that showcase the versatility of slow cooking, in an appealing way.The book goes on to include easy to follow recipes for: main dishes, soups, stews...many that sounded tempting and delicious.I'm giving 4 stars as I noted one recipe that had "onion soup mix" in it and another that included frozen spinach. These kinds of soup mixes are loaded with salt usually and frozen spinach is so inferior to fresh IMO in any recipe, that I didn't like those inclusions. But these are small things that could easily be adapted, if desired.Overall, definitely a slow cooker Ebook worth checking out!I'll be keeping this one and plan to try some of the recipes in the future. ;-)Geraldine Helen Hartman author of The Groovy Green Kitchen: Weeknight Veggie Slow Cooker

excellent slow cooker recipes (even if you are not vegan)
I'm a slow cooker guy ... I make meals the night before and then put the "crock" in the fridge and then pop it into the heating unit in the morning so the family comes home to a fully cooked meal. I am, however, not a vegan. That being said, we don't eat meat with every meal and there are more than enough recipes in this book to easily justify the expense for someone who isn't vegan. At the top of the list of recipes we will be making from this collection from Martha Drummond are: Spinach and Mushroom Vegan Marinara Sauce, Vegan Lentil and Green Chili Slow Cooker Tamales, Tasty Vegan Peanut Butter Satay and Vegan Slow Cooker Pumpkin Pudding Dessert.PS I also liked Drummond's Sriracha "Hot Sauce Recipes", check it out at http://www.amazon.com/Sriracha-Cookbook-Hot-Sauce-Recipes-ebook/dp/B00I8UPNQK/

Summer in the city and it's hot, hot, hot! Perfect timing for a new Vegan Slow Cooker Cookbook!
I live in the South and it's getting way too hot to heat up the kitchen with the oven. The garden will be full of beautiful, delicious veggies before you know it. The farm stands are already overflowing with goodness. This cookbook has some great recipes that I can't wait to try. I have never cooked oatmeal in the slow cooker, so I think I will give one of these yummy ones a try. Since I lived in Louisiana for a time, I will definitely try this gumbo recipe. As a Southern gal you know that Peach Cobbler is calling my name. Lots to look forward to....glad I picked this one up!

Meh.
As a writer myself, I absolutely hate to give less than 4 or 5 stars on a book. With that being said, this book is barely a 3 star. While it was a great idea, I wasn't impressed with the lack of color! Cook books should not be black and white, if they were printed after like 1920.Some of the recipes were good, others definitely needed measurements and cooking times switched up a bit.Overall, it's an okay book but not something I'd give as a gift or expect to get much out of. If you're looking for a great vegan book, try the Thug Kitchen -- that one was one of my favs.

A very timely read
The Vegan Slow Cooker Cookbook came at a very opportune time for me. Although I do look after my health a close friend of mine recently had a heart attack and it brought home to me the necessity to eat well and healthily. The book has some excellent insights into the benefits of a vegan diet and the convenience of using a slow cooker. Over and above that there are plenty of delicious recipes that can be cooked in your slow cooker as well.I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a healthier way of life coupled with the convenience that a slow cooker can bring to our busy lives.

I love this cook book
I love this cook book! I alway loved my slow cooker but found making up recipes a bit more challenging for vegan slow cooker ideas. this has mad my life soo much easier as I am a vegan single mom who works crazy retail hours and did not want to bend or give in to a less healthy life style. Seriously if you are a super busy human or simply enjoy using a slow cooker and enjoy vegan recipes this is the book for you! LOVE!

Yum! From Breakfast to Desert & all points between
I have been absolutely thrilled that i decided to buy this book. If you are like me & have quite a collection of cookbooks, then you know that often you will find a few good recipes in each book. This cookbook is a complete treasure because every one of the 38 recipes inside it look like delicious winners. Honestly i never considered breakfast in a slow cooker before this book and now I am thrilled about the idea. (Cinnamon, Pumpkin Vegan Oatmeal!). This cookbook has equally amazing recipes that run the daypart from breakfast to soups to dinners to desserts. Highly recommended!

Some really good ideas
I was really stuck on what non meat dishes to do in the slow cooker. It has been gathering dust for ages now. Thanks to this book I cannot wait to get it out and start using it again. No colour photos inside. Print nice, big and easy to read. Measurements in cups.

Not bad
Some interesting stuff but some of the recipes have ingredients that you can only really get in America and there are some weird shortcuts (incl dry onion soup mix).

Good ideas, but very American.
Not bad, but uses a lot of America convenience foods which is not so easy on the British market. Saying that, the recipes have inspired me and given me quantities and ingredients ideas to create my own. So purpose actually acheived.
