I used these to replace cheap stamped metal clamshell style sockets in custom ceiling lights. The cardboard and plastic kept burning up inside so I replaced with these ceramic sockets. These are ceramic and metal. They're rated for 600 watts so my 100-watt bulbs will not affect these negatively.

I was able to replace the soldered sockets and change the wiring to what I needed easily.
