This AC unit is awesome
Let me tell you , I bought this AC before the summer to cut down on my central AC $$,I live in a rancher and it cools the whole thing down , I do close all the doors to rooms not being used and I closed off my sun room couple years ago with a cheap slide door , but it cools off the main living space great,Iโve been running it HARD,no freeze ups so far,no problems ,the highest bill so far with these heatwaves in the past is only $140 above my basic usage , Iโm not cheap with electricity,my base usage is like $289 julys bill was $389 and august bill was $434 , itโs been very humid so i decided since I havenโt used my central air much. Iโll run that for the humidity and give the window unit a break, I fall asleep on the couch a lot I work nights, although my central air feels cold. This window unit is much colder so I ended up, turning off the central air and putting this window unit back on, this unit is great so far this whole summer, during a really hot heat waves. Iโll use the central AC to pick up whatever the unit donโt pick up so in other words, I might keep the window unit at 70/72ยฐ and the central air at 74/75ยฐ like a whole house zone thing, that way my central air is not running constantly, and it hasnt all summer long. We lived here 4 years and I finally figured out how to lower my electricity in the summer , in the past, Iโd have Electric bills $600 500 and some dollars even $800 , this unit is great. I highly recommend it very happy.

From Hot to Not.
Unit works well so far. Have had it a week. It will cool an open 700 square ft area. If you have twists and turns you may still need a separate smaller unit. Like for a back room. Even without this unit will still make a back room at the end of a twisty turning hall moderately bareable with the door open. I give it a 4.7 star overall. It does cool well. The only thing somewhnegative I could say in the first week of 90 degree temps outside is on high it's a little loud. Not terriblely for the size of the unit that blows cold like this though honestly I think most units12- 14000 and above are on the louder side on full blast. Energy use is much better then central ac so far though. It was pretty easy to install. It uses the splasher to cool coils and produce cool air without as much electric usage. The test of time will tell us more. So far so good. Eco mode reduces consumption if it's not to hot out for you it also has a sleep mode that works well also. This in my opinion deserves a solid 4.75 star. If you have doubts, just get the protection plan or extended waranty and maintain it so you have peace of mind. Runs like a champ so far.

Works on a medium sized room.
This did the job we wanted it to do. It cooled our medium sized bedroom through a long Georgia summer while we scraped together enough money to replace our HVAC. It could make our bedroom too cold if we wanted it too. Easy to use and a decent noise level. Easy installation with everything needed to put it in a window.

Hisense Makes Quiet Sense! Be Careful; Seller Wasn't Authorized; NO Warranty
Replaced the GE unit I bought last year today for two reasons: 1) too noisy and 2) I needed a little more btus Installed today; beautiful; of course you hear the fan, but no droning motor noise, or "thump" when compressor goes on or off. I do have another GE for another room I bought 25 years ago at a garage sale, and it's not noisy, so, I think GE needs to go back to the drawing board. The only thing not working was the remote; Hisense would not honor warranty, since the seller is not an authorized retailer; I am challenging them to provide a warranty, or I will return it, so be careful; make sure the seller is authorized. Finally; a tip I got from the service people who recharged my old AC; keep the ac upright before installing or uninstalling; the compressor does not like being turned upside down and backwards.

Great AC, Poor Customer Service
It's actually a great AC. However, if you decide to get it, make sure that you're CERTAIN you're gonna keep it, unless you want to spend a pretty penny to send it back. For us, we had two smaller ACs on the upstairs windows, but decided they weren't powerful enough to cool our rooms. So, we purchased this. However, a few days after it arrived, our housing office emailed us saying that window units were not allowed on the second floor. So, we thought to send it back, unopened, untouched, to save money since we weren't going to use it. We soon found that the return fee was around $250-$285 to send it back. When I attempted to contact the seller, they basically told me to sell it off locally if I couldnt pay the return fee. I contacted Amazon, they contacted the seller again, and the seller messaged again to say that either way I wasn't getting the return fee back, and that I had 'probably' already used it which was another fee. Plot twist: I hadn't used it. The box hadn't even been opened. Due to the hassle, I just decided to keep it, but upon opening the box, I found that the right side of the front vent had been broken off. Ugh. TLDR; The AC is great, quiet, cools a medium room very well, and the value for the cost is acceptable. HOWEVER, Customer service is a nightmare.

This brand is the best honestly
TLDR: buy it, itโs amazing and totally worth it! Had this air conditioner over a year and this is by far one of the best Iโve ever owned itโs still blowing cold air like the first day I received it. I control it through the app so if I want it to be really cold I can turn it down and this thing will freeze you out. I usually keep it set around 65 on eco mode on a low setting because if you set it on high it on just the fan setting it will freeze you out! Setting it up is super easy, you can follow the video instructions to lock it into the window or you can just set it in there, but I recommend doing it the way they suggest so itโs locked into secure. Best freaking air conditioner buy it..

Works great!
Hisense 8000 btu worked great the 5 months we needed it for cooling last summer and it's working great this year. Louder than I'd like but to be expected using a window unit. Instalation was easy.
