Sanus Vmpl50A-B1 mount installation with Sharp 70-inch Aquos TV
Bottom line, this is an EXCELLENT, adjustable TV mount product with high quality manufacturing. I was impressed by its capability, workmanship and it earned a solid five stars. TV Buyers Beware!!! If you're in the market for a giant TV beware of this problem: Regardless of manufacturer, the mount adjustment wrench length has not kept up with the width of giant TVs! This bummer factor means you can't make adjustments once the TV is mounted on the wall because the wrench doesn't have the required length to reach the adjustment screws deep behind the TV! Here's my review based on my installation: For wall mounted TVs, you got to have the right mount and this is one of the best. I used this mount for a SHARP 70-inch Aquos TV which weights in at 100 lbs. The reason for the gigantic TV size was to cover the old CRT TV hole above the fireplace. Actually, the old TV cavity above the fireplace was a godsend for two reasons. One, I was able to create my own 2x4 frame to the house structure inside the cavity then bolt the base of the TV mount to the 2x4s. No question about holding power of the mount. Second, since the TV cavity had a rear access panel, I was able to reach behind the TV once mounted and secure the mount tilt adjustment which would not have been possible otherwise. The adjustment wrench supplied was too short to reach the adjustment screws! This would be a serious bummer for a mount on a solid wall. Back to the installation, with the help of another person, we picked the TV up and placed it on wall mount and heard/felt the solid click of the TV mount bracket locking with the wall mount. No question the mount had the TV. The adjustment of the mount was fantastic. Under direction of wife, I was able to slide the TV left or right until it was exactly centered horizontally in her mind. Then I was able to give it a slight tilt downward. This would have been an easy step if the wrench had enough length. Like it was, I had to use my helper to hold the TV tilt in place while I went around to the back and tighten the tilt adjustment by reaching through the old TV cavity. We are very happy with our mount choice and installation experience.

Really Glad I went with this Sanus Mount!
Awesome. I chose this product over an even cheaper alternative. While all had great reviews. I don't know something about the fact that this Sanus weighed 10lbs and the other cheaper ones weight 4-5 lbs. And all to keep my really heavy LCD up on a wall. The Sanus just looked more straight forward. And it is! It comes in 3 pieces and has a great weight and feel to it. It's pretty straight forward really. All you gotta do is find those studs. I would say my biggest advice if you are new to mounting like me, measure, measure, and remeasure. Make sure everything is aligned how you want it. Check you levels and follow the instructions. It really is a nice mount and I notice you get about 2 inches of clearance which is AWESOME because the plug on the back of my tv goes straight out and I need as much clearance as I can get. which the 2" seems to be about perfect. The TV looks great and slick on my wall now and the mount is holding it perfectly. Also the fact that this system has a pro level feature where you can adjust the screws on the top to re level out the tv is great! Great product and I'm glad I spent a little extra on this because there is less assembly and it is more solid.

Holds my 55” TV and was a breeze to install
Installing this on the wall was pretty easy. The last TV mount I installed, several years ago, was the same brand but definitely more complicated. I’m glad the technology has apparently improved. I have a 55” Roku brand TV attached to it, and it hasn’t so much as budged in the months since I put it up. It is rock solid.

Quality Mount, Way Too Low-Profile
In my mind, this is a 3.5 star item, but due to the quality of Sanus products I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and bump it up the extra half star. Mount is exactly like all others I have used, except that this one has a tilt function. Wall plate is very sturdy. Hardware included fit my needs, and I had quite a bit of needs! No issues, as some others have said, with the strength and/or quality of the lag bolts - drill pilot holes and you should be fine. Post-installation leveling is a great idea, especially since it's hard to get the right amount of tilt so that both arms tilt at equal degrees (I didn't have that problem since I'm using maximum tilt, but I can see that being a problem for others). Here's where I have issues: (1) It is simply too low-profile. I do not have one of the newest ultra-slim TVs - I have a 3-year old Samsung that is about 4" deep, and I had to use the longest spacers available to me. With the TV tilted down, the bottom of the TV is roughly 1" from the wall. This meant I had to go out and buy an electric cord with a right angle plug into the TV, and use a right-angle HDMI adapter (which I already had), as those two plugs pushed up against the wall and prevented the TV from locking to the mount. (2) Once you hang the TV from the upper part of the mount, the arms click into the lower part of the mount for extra security. To take the TV off the mount, you have to reach behind the TV and flick the tabs that will unlock the mount. The problem is this: my TV is mounted over my fireplace, and the fireplace mantle makes it impossible for me to reach from under the TV to unlock the mount (without taking the mantle off first). The directions don't say this, but the way you unlock the mount is to tilt the TV upwards as far as it can go and reach from the sides. Problem is, the included allen wrench is not nearly long enough to get the leverage needed to loosen the tilt knobs. As mentioned above, I am using the maximum allowable tilt and therefore did not fully tighten the knobs, but the bottom line: if and when I move, I'm not sure I'll be able to get the TV off of the wall without doing some serious damage to the walls and/or fireplace mantle (and/or TV, I suppose, as well). I'm using a 52" Samsung, so I believe some of these problems will be alleviated with a smaller TV and a normal TV placement (conversely, I can't see how someone of normal height/reach would be able to reach the tilt knobs with a larger TV, and I'm 6'2"). The mount itself is of excellent quality, and if I did not have the fireplace issue, then this would have received a 5. But I would carefully consider placement options prior to purchase.

I wish it could give it 6 stars
This is an update to my original review. Yesterday I noticed my TV was leaning a little to one side, but I couldn't find the adjustment wrench. I emailed Sanus through their website, gave my address, and in the morning I had an email saying a new wrench was on its way. Great service on top of an already excellent product. First, I'm completely satisfied with the quality, the sturdiness of the brackets, and the mounting plate. The only advice I can give is to really think about where this is going to end up on your wall. In our case, there is an electrical box with outlet and HDMI cable mounted high on the wall. This particular mounting plate has a strip of metal in the middle, so I was left with the dilemma of either mounting the TV off center or modifying the bracket, and I ended up cutting the middle section out. In hindsight, I should have measured where this was going before I bought it and traced out where it would mount. Had I done that, I may have gotten a different model without that middle section. Even with that middle piece gone, I have no concerns about the strength or ability to keep the TV safely mounted. I can't say enough good things about the adjustments possible with this mount. With our mounting job complete, we sat back to enjoy our work, and noticed we were about 2 tenths of an inch low on one end. Being off level was really noticeable. No problem. With this mount, you can make minor adjustments for level after installation without having to remove the TV. Just use the included allen wrench to make the final adjustments. The ability to tilt the TV forward was also key for us. Our TV is mounted fairly high because our fireplace mantel is pretty thick, so being able to tilt forward was a must. If you don't care about having your TV on an arm that you can pull away from the wall, I highly recommend this Sanus mount.

Well made and easy to install
Purchased this to mount my Pioneer 4280HD. While the Pioneer might seem small at only 42", it is plasma and it is heavy. I thought about trying a cheaper mount but thought better of it since the Pioneer is heavy, was expensive and would be hard to replace. While shopping for a mount I went to a few manufacturer sites to see what they had that would work with my TV. The Sanus mount seemed the best fit so I purchased it. Upon unpacking I found parts that looked to be well made. I'm would think this mount would do fine with a TV weighing more than the specified limit. Installation was pretty straight forward. I used a 48" bubble level to align the mount. Put one lag bolt in through the wall mount snug enough to hold position and then installed the other three lag bolts. After putting the TV side pieces on the TV I got help to put it on the wall. Put the top part on the mounting bracket and then push the bottom towards the wall until both sides clicked. There are leveling adjustments if you need to adjust the level of the TV after the mount is installed. The tilt operation works really well with my TV. It seems to be well balanced and doesn't take much effort to move it. My next mount will probably be another Sanus.

Great Mount For A Great Price
We decided to have our new led tv hung on the wall and went to Best Buy to get some idea of what our pricing would be for the geek squad service for labor, hdmi cables, and the wall mount. After figuring all the numbers we were shocked it was going to cost us over $700. Then I decided to turn to Amazon for better pricing. The exact same mount that was recommended by Best Buy was over $100.00 less on here, free shipping and is more then strong enough for our tv. It tilts for better viewing angles and worked great for our set up. After everything was said and done we got the more then $700 price quote down to $350. Great product and great price.

Well made! Plus Amazon's nice price!
Sanus makes a wide variety of great mounts for flat screen TVs. I have used this same mount on 2 TVs. It is easy to install and it comes with all the necessary hardware. Once the wall and TV brackets are mounted just lift he TV up over the Hooks on the wall bracket and snap it in place. Just make sure the wall brackets are level. I would recommend mounting the wall bracket using the lag bolts screwed directly into the wall studs, This provides the most stable foundation and the bracket still has plenty of side to side adjustment (insofar as mounting holes are concerned) to get your TV centered where you want it on the wall. Total Install time from start to finish should be 30-60 minutes. This is the mount recommended in-store at Best Buy for 2.5 times more than Amazon's price.

Excelente compra
