My favorite RPG
I got into tabletop RPGs a few years ago, mostly sticking to fantasy games like DnD and Pathfinder. I'd recently wanted to branch out and see what other settings and rule systems might be out there, and I stumbled upon Delta Green. It's quickly become my favorite system to run as the Game Master (Handler in this case). I want to highlight the two things I'd consider before picking up Delta Green.1. The Setting - This is a Lovecraftian horror RPG in a modern-day setting, taking place primarily in the United States. If you are into Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos you will find a lot to appreciate about this game. The lore of the unnatural and the history of the fictional Delta Green organization are incredibly well thought out and compelling. I often find myself reading the Handler's guide for entertainment. It is worth mentioning that because Delta Green is a US agency, the game is primarily set in America. The lore does detail foreign agencies with goals adjacent to Delta Green, but the game and lore are really based around the US of A. I also want to point out this game is incredibly bleak, and while I find it compelling others may find it depressing. Player characters will die, often horribly. If they don't they will embark on the slow road to insanity. Make sure it's a good fit for your gaming group before committing.2. The Mechanics - I often struggled with being Game Master for my Pathfinder or DnD campaigns. In Pathfinder the rules were too crunchy and the game often got bogged down in page flipping and math. In DnD 5e, character customization was woefully shallow and with both games I felt there was a lack of real stakes propelling the plot forward. Why embark on a deadly quest to stop a giant invasion when you can simply leave the adventuring party and move to a safer part of the world? Delta Green solved all of these issues for me. The skill system is quick and delightfully simple. Players don't even have to roll if they have a high enough skill rating and aren't under pressure. It took me a bit to grasp how opposed rolls work, but I found this system highly intuitive as well once I wrapped my head around it. Combat is quick, deadly and satisfying. As for the stakes? After one encounter with the unnatural, any PC will understand that not taking on missions for Delta Green could very well mean the end of the world. And it's not just the world they are striving to save, it's their loved ones blissful ignorance of the horrible truths of the cosmos. There is even a "magic" system known in-game as hypergeometry, which allows for the learning and casting of unholy rituals. I felt this system fit in perfectly with the lore, and potentially gives characters less skilled in combat an opportunity to really shine. While the rituals are often very powerful, they come at an extremely high price to the user and don't break the game, at least not in ways it wasn't already intended to be broken.I could probably go on and on about Delta Green and it's many wonderful systems and fascinating tidbits of lore. Ultimately, if the setting appeals to you, and you enjoy deep but easy to learn mechanics, you really should give this game a whirl.

The best in Conspiracy/Horror themed RPG's on the market.
This is a superb collection, and a excellent starting point for ANYONE wishing to partake in playing Delta Green. The books come in a beautiful slipcase comes with what looks like Spot UV coating on the spine and Triangles on the front and back, with really awesome embossed sides. Someone in production really took some time making it look nice, and it shows. As for the books themselves, They too have been kissed with Spot UV n the logs and spines, to really make them pop. The binding looks to be top rate to stand up for a lot of use over time; This is not a half-hearted glue job, these pages have been what appears to be sewn. Both books are FULL COLOR all the way through (Which is a treat for us who have been Delta Green fans over the years), and loaded with art throughout by Dennis Detwiller (In case you were having just TOO MUCH sleep at night). This edition moves the timeline of Delta Green into the modern age. I will admit, I was a fan of the previous edition, and I was not looking forward to change.I was wrong. This edition makes things so much more clear and easy to run, by using simple mechanics that make sense, and is easy to implement without a lot of need for haggle. This way you spend more time focusing on storytelling rather than compiling modifiers and statistics. The Agent's Handbook is great to introduce players to the setting, set expectations of what the world has become and their place in it, how to quickly make a character and go over the mechanics of the system and ready to go face what lies in the dark. The Handler's Guide is the real star of the show. Filled with a history of the world Delta Green, the organizations and friendlies that assist, the cults that plot against, and the Old Ones and the minions that seek to destroy our world, Also information on how to use this information to build and create a campaign of your choosing with some help with plot hooks and angles to get players invested. So in short this is a MUST HAVE not only for the fans of the Delta Green franchise, but for anyone who is looking for a mature, well written conspiracy role playing game with a large footprint of support material. You can't go wrong here.

Quality, well thought out roleplaying game with a unique atmosphere
This game was actually my introduction to tabletop roleplaying games. Something about the True Detective meets X-Files meets Zero Dark Thirty meets Lovecraft setting drew me to it when I saw it mentioned, and eventually sought out the game. After playing my first game with materials I admittedly obtained through questionable means, I bought this set and was immediately impressed with just the quality of the books. Once I got into their depths when reading them, I was met with easy to understand rules and an intricately constructed setting. I would absolutely recommend buying this set to anyone who has played a session of the game and plans to run their own sessions in the future.

Brilliant RPG in a handsome deluxe hardcover set
The hardcover guides are sturdily bound and are printed on high quality paper. They come in a slipcase emblazoned with the Delta Green logo. The game itself is very well written and is an inspired spin-off of the Call of Cthulhu role playing game from Chaosium. The setting is a modern day parallel to the Call of Cthulhu game world in which players take on the role of elite agents working as part of an above-Top-Secret organization tasked with investigating a supernatural conspiracy while concealing its existence from the world at large.

Ready to Go Insane?
Very high-quality slipcase for an amazing TTRPG system. This will provide you with the 2 core books (Agent's Handbook and Handler's Guide) needed to start running Delta Green. Highly worth the money and, once you receive your books, make sure you contact Arc Dream Publishing for your free PDF!
