Princeton Tec Torrent LED Dive Light

This is the new 330 lumen model. I have used it for at least dozen dives and about that many hours underwater as deep as 100 feet and there was no water leakage. It is bright, durable, and the switch is easy to use. It uses 8 AA batteries (included). The diameter is bigger than I would like, but the price / performance ratio is hard to beat.UPDATE: After returning from Cozumel I found moisture inside the light. The last dive I took it on was to 120'. When I got home I found moisture inside. I did not check it before I flew home, so I do not know if it was just condensation from the flight or if there had been leakage. It appeared to just be a small amount of condensation. Lesson learned: loosen or remove the cap before flying. During the deep diver course the light would sometimes not turn on until I loosened the cap a little and re-tightened it. There was no water leakage. This makes me think that it was indeed condensation from the flight from Cozumel and it might have affected the switch and that would make it my fault. I will continue to use this light for now, but I will replace it if it acts up again.UPDATE: Absolutely no problems during a recent night diver course. The light worked better than the instructor's more expensive light. The only thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is the somewhat large diameter compared to some other lights. I consider this too big to fit in a BCD pocket.

Great surge replacement. Had surge years ago and the switch broke. Didn't know the manufacturer would have replaced it for free. Finally got around to buying a replacement and this looks like the real deal. Super bright light, easy switch and of course waterproof. I don't dive any more but wanted a reliable weather-proof light for my backpack and for commuting. I walk a lot and it's often dark during the times I walk. I expect that shining this light into oncoming traffic when I'm crossing on the green mean go signal. Or more importantly the unregulated crosswalks where drivers are only worried about turning left through that gap in traffic and oblivious to pedestrians in the crosswalk. Looking forward to using this to keep me safe and noticed.Only ding and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the one I got was obviously opened. No damage and seems to work. Just disappointed to pay for new but not get new. Says more about the delivery process than the product but including it for potential buyers to be aware of when opening their new light.

The box I received look open/used and there was damage to the box but the dive light did not appear to have any visable damage to it. I decided to try it out on a dive and it flooded after one (1) dive and a couple of the batteries exploded instead of the case. It's very disappointing and I had to return the defective light.

Dove with this light several times to 80 feet. Absolutely no problems with leaks or condensation. This LED light was a replacement for an earlier Princeton "filament-based" dive light. In a direct comparison, the LED was easily about 80% as bright as the filament light at 50 feet down. At this depth, the LED was noticably "whiter", giving somewhat better reef color. The filament light was prone to burn-outs (filament breakage) during use - no worries with the LED.

Update: customer service awesome. Replace defective flashlight easily and sent parts to fix older ones that switches would not work.3rd Princeton Tec light that failed quickly. I've finally learned my lesson, never again!

Ordered once, product arrived with package already torn open and torch not working with provided or brand new batteries. Sent back and exchanged. Second dive light arrived, also did not work. Sent back. Ordering a different dive light that doesn't require 8 AA batteries.

Great dive light, and very bright for the size. Bought it as a primary light for night dives, but started to use it on day dives as well. I did not experience ane leakage with it, as others have reported.

This light works good. I have dove with it over 40 dives.
