There is a little (orange) lever that you push in and arms lift out, easy. I know it is expensive but is awesome chair. One should last years and years. Make sure when you order chair that it gives you all the options. Types of seat back, cushion, etc all are separate and add to base price. I actually googled Etac mobile shower chair first. Site gives you all options available - helpful to do first so you get exactly what you want. There are less expensive sites than Amazon to order chair from....I called personally and talked to a rep. Hope this helps.

Does this chair come already assembled

All Etac Clean models come assembled except the footrest and they arms. They are put in place without tools.

Is the chair height adjustable?

The back and the foot rest are but the seat height is not.
