臨床13年目です。学生時代に「イマドキの学生はちゃんとした洋書で勉強しないのか」など、エライ先生方からお叱りを受けながら、「STEP内科学」(当時は「病気がみえる」シリーズはなかった？かも)が学生の間で流行っていました。今、現場に出てからあらためてHarrisonを手に取ると、内容の良さが分かります。英語については大学受験レベルでも何とかなりますし、実際に症例を経験してから見えてくることもあるでしょう。もちろん「これだけでは足りないんだ」というのも正論でしょうが、自分自身の「軸」の一つにはなることでしょう。その上でUp to Dateなり最新の成書なり、また「病気がみえる」でイメージ強化なりということなのだろうと感じたことでした。

Was excited to get my order of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, Twenty-First Edition (Vol.1 & Vol.2): 1-2 a day after I placed my order. It was going to be a present for my daughter who is in medical school. But only Volume 2 was delivered today. This book has 2 volumes and is advertised clearly with 2 volumes. And it seems like I'm not the only customer who has had this experience with Books Royale based on the other reviews. Books Royale, I will be waiting for your timely response within the next 48 hours.

I have used Harrison’s dice I was a medical student in the 80s. I purchased the Kindle version of the 21st Edition for reading and clinical reference as an emergency physician. It’s fantastic to be able to access a four thousand printed page high yield resource from your lab coat pocket. I strongly recommend it to every medical student, resident, and clinician. Great value!

The text is perfectly readable on even the smallest Kindle e-reader, font size is adjustable and highlighting works. A dictionary can be enabled, but it is not a medical dictionary. Most tables and photographs will need to be viewed on an iPad or other device where the image can be enlarged. I had rare issues with a page turn jumping to a random place in the book, but that might have been operator error.
