Very useful for cleaning Japanese whetstones
This is a handy cleaning "eraser" for cleaning your Japanese whetstones effectively. You simply apply some water to the stone and gently rub until the stone is clean. The eraser itself is quite small and made of a solid abrasive material. It can also be used to remove rust from carbon steel tools or kitchen utensils.

Does the job
I had a couple of very badly tarnished Bowie knives that I had owned for about 45 years. It took a bit of elbow grease but the blades now look bright and shiny with no obvious scratching to the surface

OK if you can read Japanese
Instructions are in Japanese. So OK if you can read it, but useless if you can’t, like me.I don’t think Amazon should sell any product without user instructions in clear English
