Why does it say organic and then have propylene glycol (also found in radiator coolant) in it?

96% of the product, by weight and volume, is organic Aloe Vera gel. Propylene Glycol is found many skin care products and is very safe in small quantities. The US and European food authorities have declared it as generally safe for use in foods. Propylene glycol is a synthetic food additive that belongs to the same chemical group as alcohol, however it is significantly less volatile. It should not be confused with the toxic substance ethylene glycol. Additionally, it can dissolve some substances better than water and is also good at retaining moisture. This makes it ideal as an additive in skin care products.
