Columbia womens Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped

Now that I’ve hiked about 50 miles (80km) in these boots, I can confidently recommend them. Not a loose thread in sight. I’ve hiked through creeks, I’ve submerged them in water AND mud. During a particularly treacherous hike, I had to walk through deep mud that covered the entire boot, laces and all. I used my water bladder from my hiking pack to rinse it, and it was back to looking fine. I didn’t take any special steps to clean or dry them, just kept hiking.They’re definitely waterproof, I’ve walked straight through the creek with no issues. I have a wider foot so I chose a wide and I’m glad I did. I feel like I could easily get another 50-100 miles out of these boots before they show any signs of needing replacement. They’re sturdy, the laces are nice and strong too. They’re not too heavy and they are able to fit wool socks into comfortably when I adjust the laces. I’ve even doubled up socks and made the fit. Still comfortable with my summer socks too. I did put in a Dr. schols insert in them just bc I tend to get plantar fasciitis but with the inserts in these boots I’ve actually never felt foot pain even on my longest adventures.

Great fit, true to size. Lightweight. Doesn’t keep your feet warm in winter temperatures. Wore them in a thin layer of snow - so I can’t really tell you if they are waterproof. My sole purpose is to wear them walking in the down pouring rain- still haven’t experienced yet. I’ve worn them on my feet for 8-9 hours daily, back to back and had no complaints, they were comfortable in the wide size.

Fits perfectly! I use them mostly for yard work and they are very comfortable! I feel like my feet have gotten sweaty but the shoe doesn’t retain any smell. Would recommend to anyone!
