Golberg's Para-Max Cord tops the charts in the world of paracord. At 1/4" (6mm) and 5/16" (8mm) thick, this cord is heftier and provides a higher tensile strength than regular 550 paracord, which comes in at 5/32" (3mm) thick. Para-Max provides a thicker and stronger alternative to your favorite 550 paracord, and soon will become your cord of choice. Both the 1/4" and 5/16" have a minimum tensile strength of 1,000 lbs. 1/4" is constructed with three 4-ply inner cores (totaling 12) while 5/16" is constructed with six 3-ply twisted inner cores (totaling 18). Both cords are enclosed in a 32-strand interwoven nylon outer sheath. These strong and durable premium cords are perfect for any outdoor use, such as hunting, towing, and camping as well as survival and emergency situations. Perfect evolution of 750 paracord
I ordered 100’ hanks of multicam and desert camo, both in 1/4”. This stuff is legit! The cordage is slightly stiffer than 750 paracord, and substantially more so than standard 550. As a result, it bundles extremely well in coils of 50’. It is not so stiff as to make tying knots difficult, so far it seems absolutely perfect. It has the same type of outer weave that standard paracord has, so there is plenty of friction to keep knots stable.Cutting and melting the ends of this cordage is exactly like dealing with standard paracord. The ends don’t blow up into a 2” fray when cut, and quickly melt down to a smooth nub when placed into a small flame. In comparison, I purchased some 6mm “utility cordage” from a rock climbing rope company. That stuff was more expensive per foot than this Paramax cord, and is otherwise complete junk. The 6mm cordage was way too stiff for anything except horse bridles, and is so slick it won’t stabilize any knots. When cut, the ends blow up into a multi inch fray, and that makes melting the ends a real chore. Since I don’t hike with an electric hot-knife, that is very inconvenient. What a joke that 6mm stuff is.Back to this paramax cordage! I will be using this cordage for heavy duty lashing, bear bag hanging, uber-strength ridge line, the list goes on & on.As for color, the multicam is a medium shade of olive drab, with a good mix of other colors & patterns. This is true camo for anything in wooded or shrubby areas. The desert camo is perfectly suited to more arid places, and is quite nice looking. Since I only use reflective cordage for guy lines, I’m unlikely to buy any of this paramax cord in any of the bright colors. But it’s nice that so many colors are offered. This is my new go-to for anything that 550 or 750 won’t handle. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Poor for marine use; probably makes a good lasso
I bought the 5/16" rope. It is too stiff for marine use because:(A) It knots poorly.(B) It doesn't snug up on cleat such that it holds in place even if not under continuous pull.(C) It is not limp enough to lay flat in storage compartments or hang down from a hook when bundled.I know their policy says "Full refund if not satisfied" but I'm unsure if I'll take them up on this. Seems I made my own poor decision here.

The widest paracord for cable wrapping!
This 5/16th paracord is the widest paracord I’ve found and the only one I could fit my audio cables through. No other cord I’ve tried fit my cable jacks. This one *just* fit the straight 1/8th inch headphone jack through it. Now I have a tangle free cable and I didn’t have to cut or solder any wires.

Really nice cord
This stuff is REALLY nice! It's a little hard to get a nice, clean cut on it with conventional scissors, when you want to glue it to clasps, but I've been able to work it in, for the most part.

Elastic
I got stretchy elastic centered rope. Nothing in the description mentions elasticity but I need to use it today so it’ll have to do.

Great quality, fast shipping, great price, amazing product!
This is a great product. I have 200’ of this rope in both sizes black and pink. The pink is very bright! Both sizes are well constructed and and easy to wok with. I only had one spot on the jacket of the rope that was snagged out of all 4 of my orders. I will buy this item again but, 200’ for my needs is plenty! With the quality I doubt I will need to replace it any time soon. Happy customer
