Leobritz Daiwa 2017 S500J Electric Reel

I LIKE THE SIZE FOR WHAT I DO. IF YOU ARE WANTING TO GO AFTER MARLIN, SWORDFISH, ETC. IT'S NOT BIG ENOUGH. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE IN JAPANESE, BUT THE MANUEL IS IN ENGLISH ON LINE. THAT WAS A LIFE SAVER.

I bought this reel to fish for halibut off the Oregon coast. I fish in 500 ft of water mostly so this reel should work ok for that. It does not hold the amount of line that some claim on here. You will get about 300 meters of 60 lb braid if you are lucky. The instructions are in Japanese but you can find them in English online. I ordered the reel in the beginning of October and received it in late November. i have not had a chance to use this reel yet so I will review it again when I do. Over all first impressions are good however I do wish it held more line and didn't take a month to receive it.

There’s a reason it is so hard to find this reel, it takes halibut fishing from a cumbersome event to a pleasure. Having to hand reel in 100ft of line to do a bait check is tiring, with this electric reel, checking bait makes you much more productive and you are not just sitting there with a bare hook. When you catch a fish you still have to do some reeling so you don’t burn out the motor but the assist makes it so much easier.

Even if you don't use it as electric the reel is just good for fishing.

Seemed to work pretty good out of the box but it won’t hold enough 27# lead line to troll so I sent it back unused and shiny. It would be good to troll with regular line and a downrigger. It has a really cool jigging mode also.

The Daiwa Leobritz S500J is a small electric reel. It can retrieve line at a rate of 459 feet per minute with a max winding force of 143 pounds. The display is in English an the owner’s manual can be found here. Functions of the reel include auto-stop, custom pickup speeds, inverse line counter, humming timer, custom jigging ranges, constant speed line retrieval, Fukase mode, and the Fakase Hit alarm which sounds an alarm if there is a bite. There are various beeps and alarms that can be turned on or off depending on preference. It has 7+1 ball bearings and the ADS carbon fiber drag system. This reel is similar to the Daiwa Tanacom 500 but holds more fishing line.

日本海の落とし込みに使用。シマノ のプレイズと迷ったが周りからビーストマスタークラスになれば凄く良いがこの価格帯ならダイワの方が良いと勧められて購入。電動リールを買うのはこれが初。普段はジギングとヒラマサキャスティングをしている。 実際このレオブリッツを使ってみるとまぁ楽。使い方も直感的に操作できる。他の電動を使ったことがないので比較できないが何も不満はない。これで4万切るのだから大したもん。

安かったので購入。 使いやすさ耐久性ともに、やっぱり電動リールはダイワ精工物が良い。 他メーカー含めて現在電動リールを12台所有しているが、いちばん壊れ難いまさに電動リールのトヨタ自動車と言っていいと思う。 ビギナーからベテランまで、コスパ、使いやすさを含めてオススメのリール。

安い買い物出来ました。

鉛180~250号PE5号水深100~150mウスメバル、タラジギングに使用。 合わせて5,6回は釣行してますが、何のトラブルや、ストレス無しに釣りできてますよ。 私はまだまだベテランとは言えないでしょうが、初心者のレビューと思って頂ければと思います。

①軽くて使いやすい。 ②PEラインの巻ける量が同時購入の放浪カモメ4号５００ｍは３５０ｍくらいしか巻ききれない。（要注意） ③まだ、４回位しか使って無く他の電動リール（シマノ）では発生しないがこのリールで発生する。高速巻き上げ時の最初にガクンという瞬間的な衝撃が発生することもあり修理に出したが改善しないため返品したい。
