Sweese 12.5 oz Double Wall Glass Coffee Mugs Set of 2 - Insulated for Espresso, Latte, Tea Beverages

I did a lot of research of all of the lightweight glass coffee mugs that Amazon offered - there were a lot of them... I did like the double wall variety and read most of the negative reviews written about them. I usually start with the negative reviews because I feel I get more valid constructive criticism and how the buyer felt about the product they purchased. Whereas, the positive reviews I feel are mainly limited to phrases like: "They're awesome", "Best I've ever bought", "...would purchase again", etc. Nothing that let me really helped me understand the pros and cons of the product under real time usage. (I do concede that some positive reviews are also incite-full and tell about the product being used...truthfully). Having said that, I gathered some insightful pros and cons based on the reviews, which I feel are buyers actual experiences with the product. So, I made up my mind to purchase the 16 oz mugs first, prior to buying the 12.5 oz mugs. While using the mugs for my morning latte's, I found that I really liked the whole concept of a mug being double walled lightweight mugs. I accepted that the mugs cannot be put in the dishwasher, I already own some mugs that I would never consider putting in the dishwasher, so that was not a problem. I understood that the mugs are fragile and if dropped, the mugs would probably shatter. I already own mugs that are equally fragile, so I am careful with these mugs like I have been with my fragile mugs, hence this was not a problem. I did like that the 16 oz mugs because I can fit my three fingers in the handle securely leaving me index and little finger free to rest securely on the outside of the mug comfortably. A very big plus for me was being double walled, my coffee did retain its heat for quite a while...sometimes as much as 45 minutes before I notice a temperature drop...not a total temp drop where I have to live with lukewarm coffee, ick, The mugs temp slowly drops while still giving me a good temp for enjoying my coffee. I usually find that my coffee temp is held at my enjoyable temp for almost an hour after it gets poured in the mugs. So, I have a great sense of pleasure and confidence in purchasing the 16 oz mugs. But, why did I purchase the same mug in 12.5 oz capacity...simple I like a grande latte, and my wife likes a tall latte...the 16 oz is is equivalent to grande size and the 12.5 oz is equivalent to tall size (the choices we normally get from going to a coffee shop), so naturally since I had a great experience using my 16 oz size mugs, it was a no brainier for me to buy the 12.5 oz mugs. I've used my 16 oz mugs for almost a month now and I've been using my 12.5 oz for about a week. I couldn't be happier with them, they perform to my standards. One last big plus is that the mugs keep my fingers from being burned by the temperature emanating from the inside to the outside of the mug...I really love that. That allows me to wrap my hand and fingers around the outside of the whole mug - without getting my fingers burned. That gives me a choice of either using the handle to enjoy my latte, or hold the mug securely around the whole mug without using the handle... I now have 2 great choices with which to bring the mug to my lips and enjoy my latte inside.

I was concerned these would be fragile. They are lightweight, very sturdy, and all one piece. The fact that it looks like the beverage is floating above the counter is what caught my eye. I love them.

The cup takes your morning coffee ritual to another level. Perfect for lattes. Never enjoy homemade lattes this much and I don’t even have/use a fancy latte/expresso machine. I brew my expresso using French press and a milk frother.

I absolutely love this glass coffee mug. I’ve been trying to elevate my morning routine and add a little “romanticize your life” vibe to my coffee time, and this cup does exactly that. It has a clean, classy look and the double-wall design makes it feel high-end. Functionally, it’s perfect. It also works great for iced drinks without the outside getting cold or sweaty. I’ve already run it through the dishwasher several times with zero issues—no cloudiness, and no water trapped between the walls. The handle is comfortable, and is easy to hold without the mug getting too hot. Overall, this mug is gorgeous, practical, and quickly became my new favorite. If you’re like me and looking to romanticize your coffee time, this mug is a must!!

I got these solely because I thought they looked nice, and I wanted mugs we could still use and have our on display at our tea/coffee station instead of taking up cabinet space. Upon opening the package, my husband and I both thought that they look way bigger and rounder than in the photos. When we held them, we also noticed that the handle isn't the smoothest thing, it's almost a little sharp and uncomfortable to hold by just the handle. Based on other reviews, some customers have gotten water stuck between the walls by dishwashing them because at the bottom, there is a small circular seal they used after making the glass. This seal doesn't feel like glass, it feels sticky/rubbery. We have only hand washed these, but I wish we could put them in the dishwasher without worry. Other reviews said they are also very sturdy, but we found them to seem like very thin, fragile glass, so we've been very careful about handling them. They are definitely okay in the microwave. We microwave water in them for 90 seconds at 1250 watts for tea and they have held up just fine in that aspect. After microwaving, you can pull it straight out and hold it with both hands and it's not hot at all. The closer you get to the top of the mug where there is less space between the walls, it does get warmer, but it's not at all an uncomfortable warmth, and at the bottom, it's completely cool. We thought about returning these since we have to handle them with such care and they're not exactly what we expected, but we decided that they'll still be the best looking mugs we could have on display and we also got them during a lightning deal, so at the price we paid, we feel that they are very worth it. These would also make for a nice gift.

I bought these mainly because I wanted to move away from using plastics, and they’ve been a great upgrade. The double-wall glass design works really well and keeps drinks warm while the outside stays comfortable to hold. The price was a little higher than I would normally like to pay for mugs, but the quality makes up for it. They feel well made and look really nice on my coffee bar. Overall, they’re perfect little coffee mugs and do exactly what they’re supposed to do.

The best mugs I've ever had! Truly. I’m here to write a review because yesterday one of them fell and did not break! While i spilled my coffee, i didn’t have to worry about shattered glass on the floor. Also, you can hold the mug after filling it with boiling water, and the glass will not be hot, even though the liquid is! Finally, this is a perfect size. I tried ordering a cheaper alternative and realized the smaller sizes (eg 8 oz) barely hold my nespresso coffee and pour over if i try adding milk. All in all, highly recommend!

I ordered 8 of these mugs in January and have been happy with them, for the most part. However, one of the "double glass" mugs has water/condensation in between the glass which can't be dried. It looks filmy and since it will remain wet, it has a potential to get moldy. I've written to the seller to see if they will replace the mug. I'm waiting to hear. This is an update from my the paragraph above (April). Now, another of the mugs has leaked water into the double glass and is filmy and shows condensation. I contacted the seller and they have not responded. I have other cocktail glasses for years that are double glass and have not had this problem. I don't this this is a high quality product and the seller isn't responsive to failures.

I bought these cups despite the price because of their neat design. Don’t expect them to be sturdy. They feel as fragile as eggshells, so handle them with care. Thanks to the double wall, the outer layer only gets mildly warm, even with hot contents. For relaxing tea ceremonies, where washing and drying the cups by hand is part of the ritual, I highly recommend these eye-catching cups. Or… maybe don’t look at them too hard, they might break.
