Voyager 9 inch In Car Portable DVD Player with Easy Fit Mount

I bought the voyager 9 dual portable DVD player meaning I can watch different movies on each screen. I have not used the screens in anger yet but I have fitted them to the car ( a Volvo v40) and they work perfectly. ok there is a lot of cables about when you have both screens going but that doesn't bother me so far. I like the fact it picks up where left off and the quality of the picture is a lot better than a previous portable DVD player I had, I was disappointed however it doesn't come with an adaptor for running it from a normal domestic plug. I got them when the price had dropped to £129, hold out if you can and you can get a bargain.

What a buy this was! We have done a couple of long trips this Winter and beforehand I had been pondering buying one of these for my 6 year old for a while.My son is an only child and because of (according to the other half) my "stupid choice of car" its not a great place to be in the back of. It's Italian, so road/tyre noise is a given and being honest I probably wouldn't fancy 6+ hours in the back of it on my own! With the other half constantly chipping away at me I had a prang of guilt/panic a few days before the first big trip and took the plunge.The first one turned up broken and had to go back (Sorted swiftly and with a goodwill gesture, so I won't complain). The second was boxed nicely and very easy to set up. I assembled and attached the clamp to the passenger headrest and slotted the screen in place. Next I put the power lead in the side and plugged in the headphones I had bought separately (more info below). Finally, I grabbed a copy of Despicable Me, the remote control and the boy, and headed out for a test! He absolutely loved it.The picture is vibrant, the on screen controls are simple to use and the sound through the headphones and screen itself is excellent. For the price of it I wasn't expecting a product as good as this one. It even comes with an awesome little remote control that does everything and is simple to use. It even remembers where it has stopped the film if you turn the engine off or unplug the lighter.I did decide to buy a couple of extras - Following the advice of the other reviews I decided to get some "proper" headphones, rather than the bud-style ones that are supplied with it. In their defence I have never tried the supplied ones out, I just wanted him to have something comfortable to wear that would block out road noise and our conversation/radio/music up front. I recommend making this purchase! Also - My car only has one 12V socket, so I spent a few quid on a dual adapter so I can use my sat nav also.How did it do on the long trips? Well - Pretty damn good! We set off to Scotland for Christmas on a 1000+ round trip armed with a pile of DVD's. He has just started on a Star Wars phase and (including a break for some sleep) he felt the force the whole way to Scotland - Perfect! Luckily, Santa had also got wind of what we had in the car and bought him a couple of films for the way home too. We have just used it for a another long trip to Disneyland Paris where the screen did it's job perfectly in keeping him entertained and containing some of his excitement! We even moved it into the front and propped it on the dash to keep us all entertained on the channel train crossing - Happy days!Throughout both trips it stopped (most of) the "are we there yet" questions, stopped him eating and drinking out of boredom, we didn't have to play I-Spy on the M6 and it probably stopped a request for a toilet stop in every set of services. It has been worth every penny and I 100% recommend it to anyone with kids.It's now gone back into it's original box and is stored in the cupboard ready for our next road trip - Taking only a few minutes to get up and running when required. Excellent excellent excellent!

I bought these just before Xmas for my daughters and were just a much a present for my wife & I as they were for them as we could have a peaceful car journey without having to have the Frozen soundtrack on loop.Original DVD's that were opened on Xmas day unfortunately only lasted about 30mins though. I set them up in the car using the supplied cables & following the instructions, however after about 30 mins of operation my one daughters film turned off and the screen flickered from white to black and there was nothing I could do to remedy the problem, the trouble shooting page of the manual didn't really cover the issue I was having.Although very disappointed with the players failing so very soon after turning on I have to praise the replacement service offered by Amazon. I went on line to see what my options were and I could either return for a refund or return for a replacement. I was a little worried that I'd have to wait a long time to sort things out and that it would all get a bit complicated and I'd be blamed for the players not working.I'm pleased to say that I was more than impressed with the process as I didn't have to wait long at all for the replacements to be received. I went online of Friday 26th December and was advised that my replacements would be with me on Monday 29th December, this subsequently got revised to be Sunday 28th December. I was able to easily to track my package and it arrived early morning on Sunday 28th December. With regards to returning the faulty units I simply re-packaged the units and took it to one of these Amazon lockers you some time see by petrol stations and the like, entered my code, a door swung open and I deposited my return package and shut the door. You can also take to a number of places dotted around (mostly local convenience stores) who will arrange for the package to be returned to the seller.The only thing that will sour my praise is if I subsequently incur some type of charge should they feel that the problem with the players was of my own doing, however all connections were as per the instruction book and was I assume just one of those instances where I got a faulty player.Have to say that the replacements work fantastically and kept my girls more than quiet / entertained on a long journey back home after Xmas & New Year.To keep the peace I went for the players where you can play different discs on each player and although there is obviously cables between the players there is only a couple and the excess length of cable can be quite easily tucked into the pouches on the back of the driver & passenger seats to make a nice neat install without cables dangling all over the place. Having the mounting stantions on the seats also make the time it takes to set up and get going at the start of a journey quite quick as well as the remote controls so they can control things themselves without the need to stop all the time.

We purchased this product based on the reviews and value, it worked wonders for our 18month old and her 36 yr old Mum BUT....that was only because it was a DVD player and any DVD player would have had similar result. I should have taken notice of the number of people who said they had to return the 1st one, which Amazon did with speed and efficiency, as ours played well and the picture was great but plug the headphones in and I, as the driver, had to listen to an undistinguishable tinny interference sound which was quite loud. The speaker still had a noise coming out of it for the 4 hours it was on, which considering it is located on the headrest behind the driver or passenger this was not pleasant. !!
