Beautiful Book
I have only made a couple dishes so far as the ingredients have been a bit challenging to find, but I’ve been able to start finding items on line. The book is really lovely with pictures and easy directions. I would recommend it.

Several recipes just don't work in this beautifully produced book
A beautifully produced book with lovely pictures, most of which match the recipes (but not all--which is confusing). My two-star problem with the book is that of the six recipes I've tried, four just didn't work, mostly involving doughs and batters, but some involving instructions that were flat-out wrong. It's interesting to be exposed to all the exotic vegetables (gourd, for example) but they're hard to find outside of Indian groceries and not all that rewarding for the effort involved. I love the author's spicing, but the angst of being thrown onto my own resources to rescue the recipes makes the book worth much less than it should be. Moving this to the try-again-later-in-my-life-when-I've-got-more-patience shelf down in the basement.

Some ingredients may be hard to get
First of all, my book arrived damaged with the cover torn in 2 places. This did not make me happy. The book has a lot of interesting recipes that I want to try, but many require specialized ingredients. Fortunately, I live near Ann Indian grocery store and I should be able to find them but if you don’t, that could be a problem.

Delicious, easy
I have dozens of Indian cookbooks and this is one of my favorites. Very delicious recipes, nice photos, easy directions, and the food tastes so legit. The cabbage poriyal recipe is a new favorite of mine!

Beuatiful pictures but not worth the pricetag
Honestly, the recipes in this cookbook are pretty bland for Indian cooking. The author also oversimplifys and skips critical steps that make it harder to yield good results. I ended up freestyling most of the recipes I have tried in this book due to a lack of flavor. I think there are better Indian vegetarian cookbooks out there.

Bland recipes.
I did quite a bit of Indian cooking and I am experienced in many Asian cuisines. We just became vegetarians recently hence this book.So far I cooked 3 recipes from the booked. One was 2, two other were complete bland, totally not what the picture suggested (I should have known from the list of ingredients there was no way this outcome would be as creamy as on the picture of instance). Big disappointment.
