Original to the sander, used for hardwood furniture (cherry, white oak, maple and walnut. Also use with coarser sandpaper to deal with freshening surface of weathered redwood or just-planed old redwood decking. It is also balanced! Comfortable to use one handed.....UPdate here...Description is WRONG. It does not have GRIT - this is the holding pad that anchors a variety of sanding paper items - Festool has several types. The grit is NOT steel, either.With this compliant pad, you will not have hot spots nor burns, digs, scalps. Do not apply much pressure. Let the abrasive you use do all the work and you just keep this moving to avoid swirls. Work up through the grits - no more than two passes per grit. Don't skip grits. Don't mix abrasives. They are for specific purposes. All of this size will fit this pad and the holes will allow the dust extractor to pull away all the loose material. This is far faster than bearing down.

Perfect firmness for flat work. You can round an edge as well. I use on 5mm stroke and it’s excellent
