## Description

Are there windows in your home that have missing or damaged screens and frames? Don’t rush out to buy pricey new ones when you can easily make your own! Prime-Line Aluminum Screen Frame comes with 20 pieces constructed from 0.020 inch thick aluminum, measures 72 inch in length and features a durable bronze finish. Use with Prime-Line MP7729 5/16 inch x 3/4 inch square cut plastic corners to create high quality and easy to assemble window screens. The lineal pieces of the high-quality aluminum screen frame material are intentionally cambered (curved) outward, designed to prevent inward bowing when screen cloth is installed and stretched taut. With the quality aluminum frame materials, screens can easily be made with your choice of materials, including a solar screen fabric to create effective and energy-efficient sun screens. Prime-Line aluminum screen frames are constructed with a thicker spline channel for added support. Recommended spline sizes: 0.185 inch for standard fiberglass cloth, 0.165 inch for aluminum screen and 0.155 inch for solar screen and pet screen. For screens over 48 inch in height or width, a spreader bar is recommended in combination with spreader bar clips to prevent the screen from bowing in (Prime-Line items MP14138 and MP7794).

Review: Sturdier than hardware store products, easy to make, save money - Summer season, cue flies and other bugs trying to come in after opening the windows. So I shopped around looking at local contractors, was quoted a few hundred ($50-100) per frame+screen and thought it might be cheaper to figure out alternatives. Unfortunately Home Depot and Lowes in my area don't even carry any window frames anymore, only thing they had were mesh screens (Phifer) and a generic extendable screen frame. That's where I ended up searching desertcart and found these. For my order, I selected 5/16” x 3/4” x 72”. The box comes with 20 pieces, easily enough to make 5 very large frames, probably up to 10 average, possibly even more if you divide and conquer with measurement math. The frame is also slightly bowed, which makes it a little easier to slide in if you are cutting to exact measurements. I bought aluminum screen frame corner brackets (desertcart: Prime Line MP5591) on a separate order after learning there were only plastic ones available at the hardware store, since the plastic ones were why the existing frames broke/failed over time. Assembly was very easy. Most of the work is measurement and cutting precise angles. Overall the expenses came lower than the contractor's quote.
