These are great, very supple and responsive. I trust DaVinci more than the other assortment of brands you might see listed as Sable brushes... My personal preference is for shorter handles, and my ultimate favorite still remains the DaVinci micro maestro sable tipped brushes, but these are still great quality workhorse brushes if you take proper care and maintenance

Echoing most of the other reviews for this product, as I've had a similar experience. I'm really happy with the quality of the brushes! They've been nice to work with for tiny details - they hold a decent amount of paint for their size, deposit paint smoothly, hold their point very well, and feel sturdy and well made. I will say I do feel like the smallest 1-2 brushes in the set are so tiny that I don't feel like I'll end up using them, given how well the larger 2 hold their point, I don't think the smaller 1-2 do much that the others in the set can't already do, but that's more of a personal preference based on the work I'm using them for. I agree with other reviewers that the packaging is lacking. Each brush did have a protective tube over the bristles, but the set came in a thin plastic cellophane bag that made it feel like I was unwrapping $5 children's brushes from Target. I'm not looking for anything crazy packaging-wise but something a bit more elevated to match the price point/experience of using the brushes would be nice.

3/4 had broken tip protectors, none of them look new. None of them came to a point like a new brush. I can get 5 times the brushes in better shape than these for 70 dollars.

It’s been very hard for me to rate such tiny brushes because the metrics I use just don’t fit for this set. They came in good condition in a cellophane envelope and each one had a protective tube covering the brush. The largest ones holds enough paint for me to use it as desired, but the smaller ones I have to dip every stroke, and even mid-stroke to get the effect I want. They are good for true miniatures, and for tiny details of course, and the hairs have stayed in a nice, pointed shape after I clean and shape them, and re-cover them. I take great care with my brushes, and would be shocked if these did not respond as well as they do. That Sid, the two smallest are just so tiny, with so few hairs that I feel I’m perhaps unqualified to give an opinion that would truly be useful.

This is a nice set of brushes for fine detail. I’ve only used these a couple of times, but they held the point well and are the best brushes I’ve used for eyes. They feel nice in my hand and as a beginning painter, made it that much easier to use for detail work. While they are advertised as watercolor brushes, the packaging states they can be used for any type of paints. I used one of the brushes with acrylic paints and it worked very well to draw fine lines. These are good quality brushes that I expect to use for a long time. As others have said, though, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired and doesn’t reflect the price point. One of the brushes had a couple of hairs sticking out to the side, as if the protector wasn’t put on properly, and the cellophane packaging was the same as inexpensive brushes.
