Allstar Performance ALL26023 14" x 5" Paper Air Filter Element

I had a problem with the engine in my '67 Corvette having a "hiccup" every once in a while going down the highway. I spent a long time chasing the problem, and found that it wouldn't do it if not running an air filter. The stock air filter is 3" high, so I bought this one that is 4" high. After careful measurement to make sure it would clear the hood, I installed it and the engine no longer has the "hiccups". Interestingly, I had installed a expensive K&N air filter that made the problem worse than when using the stock 3" filter. The engine has been modified, and I think it just needs more air than the stock air filter in a drop-down housing can provide.

Only 14x5 paper filter I could find from a brand I recognize. Most are the cotton gauze type "high performance" filters that really are only good at keeping the ball bearings out.

Heavy duty quality filter. Looks nice on street rod. Will purchase again.

Started getting engine combustion knock Probably going to be ok after I talk to my mechanicHigh flow Caused lean mixture which can cause combustion knock which I learned about after.Put the old filter back on and all good.Going to mechanic next week anyway so probably he can set it up with a different fuel mixture
