Thank you** A: To anyone who views - if you're planning on mounting these wheels to sit partially next to something else as opposed to simply on the bottom, the total width of the unit is more than the ~19mm (18.8mm on most of mine) of the plate, plus extra for the axle pin. I would allow 22mm to be safe - an extra 1mm on one side, and 2mm on the other side for the axle pin. Alternatively you'll need to drill a small hole for the axle pin to sit in the material that will be next to the wheel. **Q: Is the metallic plate magnetic?** A: Yes the metal plate is magnetic. They get the job done. *by D***N on May 20, 2021* I'm using these 1" casters under a heavy drawer I'm installing in a workbench. Drawer slides weren't going to work in this instance, so I'm using the casters as an alternative. I mounted one pair of caster on the bottom of the drawer near the back. I mounted another pair of casters facing upward at the front of the shelf the drawer rests on. That gives it a nice roll, even through the drawer is heavy.
