Not bad for the price.
I took a chance on this trimmer even though there were no reviews. I've used it twice and have mixed feelings.First, it appears to be well constructed and assembly was easy. It also looks and feels much better than the other $30 trimmers. But, the trimmer does not easily work as an edger. When you rotate the head, you cannot use the metal guard as a guide. It is about 2 inches too high and it doesnt work. You can use it as an edger, but you will have to do it all by sight alone. Adjusting the trimming angle is useful here. This is an obvious design flaw. It would be easy to design the "flower guard" so that it would double as an edging guide. The auto-feed is hit and miss as well, but fortunately there is a convenient button near the spool that allows manual feeding of the line.I wish everything worked a little better, but for $30 I'm not going to complain. Although it takes a little more effort, I am able to get the job done with it. Four stars for price. Had I spent $60-$80 I would rate it 2 stars.

Nice trimmer
So far very nice. Turns out it has features that I really haven't used, such as an adjustable head, handle and flower guard. After several uses I can't say whether a dual-string trimmer has any advantage over a single string. I do like the mechanism that dispenses string as the motor stops turning as opposed to having to bang the spool on the ground. This is actually much more convenient and saves having to find a solid surface. My only issue and reason for 4 stars is it's a bit heavy. The weight can be an issue if you're trying to do some precision trimming and need to be steady for a longer period of time. Perhaps the additional weight is sign of good construction??

People said assembly was hard, but it only takes half a brain to see it's simple.
Having read other reviews, I was concerned about assembly. After receiving it and assembling, there's only 4 screws, all you need is a phillips head screw driver and half a brain to figure out how to assemble, directions are clear enough. It must require an incredible lack of intelligence to give less than 5 stars because you thought "assembly was hard". Ignore any such reviews. That being said, I haven't used it yet, it seems well built, sturdy, comfortable to hold, about to go use it right now, I'll update my review if I find any problems, but for now, on assembly/look/feel I'll give it a 5 stars to counter the people who "just don't get it" (it's not rocket science people).

Great for the price
I didnt have high hopes for this low cost trimmer but was pleasantly surprised after using it. This trimmer feels solid enough and is very versatile in that you can adjust length, grip and head angle [flat or vertical]. It is way more powerful than I thought it would be and cuts through most things with no problems. I have only used it once and was quite impressed with the excellent results. Be aware that out of the box it only has a very small amount of string mounted that will run out after 15 mins [at least that's what I'm hoping], so get a roll of replacement string ready.

Extremely aggravating "tool".
This string trimmer has to be the most erratic, difficult and cheap item that I have ever bought. You can only use it at full throttle; you cannot turn it off and on while trimming or else the string comes out too fast and wraps around the body of the spool wasting at least 3 feet of string. When you wind the string around the pool to reload it you absolutely must not cross over at any time otherwise it does the same thing as described above. The lock for the handle extension has to be tightened down with a pair of channel locks. I gave it two stars because when you get to work properly (briefly and sadly) it does work well, but you must buy lots of string and of good quality! The string that comes with it just throw it away. Cheap price and cheap product.

Works well, extremely difficult to guess how to assemble.
The trimmer works well when finally assembled. It set a new low for quality of assembly instructions. The primary instruction (singular) was a picture about 1.5 inches square in black/white that showed how it should appear. The package was missing the screws that held the two piece shield together and included no instructions on how to install the front guide. I have used it for about one hour and it performed well with no operational problems but it took about two hours to assemble guessing how the parts go together.

Does the job but be prepared to fiddle with the wire a lot
Its nice and when its working it's going at it. But like any other plastic string trimmer, the string snaps a LOT and some handle it better than others. There's been a couple occassions where i had to take it all apart, some times i could just press the little button and get some more wire. Make sure you stop on time and do that first to prevent having to take it all apart.

Aside from that this trimmer works great.
Decent trimmer for the price. The only downside I see is that for young, immature grass the blades of this trimmer do not spin fast enough to cut the first pass. Young grass tends to be flimsy and the air movement caused by the spinning lines cause the grass to lay down rather than be cut. Aside from that this trimmer works great.
